I'm lucky to help clients build their backyard dream facilities....currently building "Green Complex #1" on this three green, four tee box, Par 3 Course at a private "Lake House" residence outside of Dallas.

I'm thinking of getting one for my daughter's bag. She's a freshman in HS and playing her first Varsity tournaments...anyone recommend a good chipper for ladies?

$220, most expensive single club in my bag...and I love it.

I got the Sigma 2 Fetch from my wife for Christmas with the same grip/adjustment system...mine is definitely not loose feeling once adjusted.

I play a lot of late afternoons and only have time to play 9-holes about 75% of the time...but you gotta hit it when you can.

Yeah, the weekend was the only good days the whole week we were there...heavy fog and rain every other day. Still 30* warmer than it is Dallas today and I got in a round at Emerald Bay. Greens were in great shape and fun course...

Shot a 41 on 9 yesterday!...was playing from the front tees with 3 young juniors.

2019 Break the 85-hump...set sights on 80! I have broken the 90-hump a handful of times in 2018, but my best score is still an 86 so rather than mentally trying to break 80, I'm gonna lower the hurdle and try to break 85 in 2019. If it happens and happens again, I'll lower it back down to 80. How to get there... - listen to my swing coach, do the exercises, and apply the lessons to my "game swing" - ONLY focused practice time at home and at the range - hit more fairways with driver, still my #1 problem - Minimum 30-minute backyard routine every night that I'm home:10-minutes putting, 10-minutes chipping from 20-30' shooting for a 5' circle around the pin, 10-minutes full swing into net with different clubs, add 10-20 minute with driver into net whenever possible.

30 mins? From midnight - 6am maybe...lol DFW is really a great place for golf and getting better every year. A Ryder Cup in North Texas would be amazing! June, July, and August are not fun...even for us natives who are 'adjusted' to the heat. Team Euro would melt here. 🙂 This is very surprising to me, didn't think it would actually happen...seriously some great news for the area.

I'm a VV fan too but I recently discovered the Cut Golf Yellow ($19.99/dz) and can't tell them apart. With 3 kids playing Junior golf on my dime, we will all be playing Cut Golf except the 5 year old...he gets the cheap ones.

Well, if you don't like the matte balls not sure will help but for the original poster...I've played 3 rounds now with the Cut Yellow and see now reason to ever pay more (unless I need them right away). Played it side by side with a Volvik Vivid for 9-holes on our club's practice course and literally had balls lying within feet of one another at times off back-2-back tee shots. Feel around the greens, off the putter, 7-wood...couldn't tell them apart. When I have played 18-holes with them, they drive as well as VVs too. I swear if you blindfolded me (and I actually hit the ball), I wouldn't be able to tell them apart, I'm a Cut Golf fan.

...until the first hole played with water?

Yeah, that's a lot work too when there are commercial options that aren't $$$$$ We have 4'x5' & 5'x5' hitting mats that are made with our Ultimate Tee turf with a 5/8" pad backing for +/- $500 (depending on size). They are great fairway mats with any iron and will actually hold even a 3.5" tee to allow you to hit any club in your bag. Easy to move around and you can rotate it as it wears to extend the life...why do all that work? Same material used on the new tee line here at Bay Hill Club & Lodge.

I used to bag my grandfather's old Ping Eye irons (not Eye2), 1-PW with a G5 5w and driver. After I retired the iron set to 'man cave trophy' status, I kept the 1-iron in my bag just for punching out low...and setting up the old Lee Trevino joke. I just re-ordered the Cut Yellow balls on Black Friday for $16.95/dz...I'll have to check those out come Spring.
