  1. Certainly. This computer is pretty old—it’s a MacBook Pro, mid-2012, with High Sierra. Maybe it works because it’s a dinosaur? Haha
  2. No. At best you’re going to get conflicting advice that may or may not work with other things you’re trying to do in your swing.
  3. It’s been a month or two since I last played, but I took Classic out for a spin, and it worked just fine. The data was able to transfer from my device using my computer as well.
  4. @Shorty, @boogielicious, and @iacas thank you for adding well-reasoned and factual statements to counter @Billy Z’s nonsense. While I tend to agree to a limited extent that people can be overly sensitive these days, “Indian” and the equivalent (“red skins” and the like) are, as all of you pointed out, offensive—and not just a nitpicky level of sensitivity—but offensive to all reasonable people, given historical context and usage. Therefore, I think the ball club made the right decision. However, I’m not a fan of “guardians,” but I’m happy to see the change.
  5. Or look in the instruction manual. If you don’t have one, look online for a PDF of it.
  6. Bring on the wind. 💨
  7. A little push to push draw is my pattern, so I would aim at the cart path or bunker on the left and hit driver for 250 carry. However, if it’s really windy from left to right (blowing toward the water), I may hit my driving iron—peak height about 50’ off the ground, carrying about 200-210 and rolling out like mad. I’d aim at the same place. Note: I realize that into wind, driver is still the play because driver has more ball speed and will cut through even if the ball launches higher. I’m talking about a side wind that exaggerates my miss. My driver’s egg is larger and the wind would make me uneasy—that’s when I would pull the driving iron out.
  8. I hardly ever practice putting. When I do, I focus mostly on a solid strike and start line. So I suppose you can say I mostly just practice “bead,” and no so much read and speed. Why? What little putting practice I do, I do at home on a mat. Hard to practice read and speed at home on a 15’ putting strip, so I focus on bead. Read and speed work seems to be a putting green at the course kind of practice, and I virtually never go to the course unless I am playing (launch monitor at home).
  9. Doesn’t make life any easier. Usually just more obligations and responsibilities. The trick is to not let your personal standard of living change too much despite making more money. Hard to do when there’s so many more shiny things in reach now.
  10. Be sure to hit down on the ball, and you’ll get it up in the air. The loft of the club will get it in the air if you strike it reasonably well. Swing stuff aside, you may consider higher lofted fairway woods or hybrids to fill in the longer end of your set and then grab some chunky, GI short irons. Some manufacturers may offer a set like this. If not, don’t be afraid to find on eBay or somewhere to piecemeal a set. These clubs will help you get the ball airborne due to more ball speed and the COG being back and low in the head. I said this in another thread on here that I know of a guy who plays all the way to a 13 wood; he’s older and has lost a lot of speed, so they help him a lot.
  11. Call them out here, then. 😉😈
  12. Just saw the news about an upcoming launch monitor. Thought I’d share.
  13. When I practice general ballstriking, all I use is my driver, 3w, and driving iron.
  14. That certainly makes sense for beginners because there's less of an issue in deciding between clubs. You may consider looking into higher lofted fairway woods or hybrids. These clubs will help you get more ball speed and launch. Both of which will help you maintain proper gapping throughout the bag. An older guy at the club in which I used to be a member had woods all the way to a 13 wood. Those clubs are very helpful as you age or slow down. No shame at all.
  15. Thanks for sharing. I'm kinda out on this unit for now; the company is going to need to show me something impressive. I already have a good LM, but I am always interested in new tech. Competition in this market is lacking amongst the top tier LM's, so new entrants in this arena who can reasonably keep up is certainly welcome.
  16. Nice. Fairway woods are very versatile. And dang, your 9 wood is strong or your speed is. My 3w flies about 225-235 carry (generally 145-149 ball speed) so you’ve got some speed in that tank. 👍
  17. Why? Waste of a club, and certainly not as fun either. You can do nearly just as well putting by blading another club. In other words, you’ll putt better with another club than you will hit other shots with a putter. To that end, I’d rather go driver and a like a 7i. More strokes to be gained in the long game.
  18. I wouldn't classify Jordan as a player who "over-analyzes" things. I think Jordan may be a basket case sometimes who may have some fidgety tendencies, but I wouldn't say he over-analyzes. Maybe it's distinction some may not see or agree with, but I see a difference. For example, especially when he was struggling, he took extra practice swings, had a fidgety manner (apart from just extra movement to stay loose instead of being static), talked about shots and numbers ad naseum with Greller, touched the towel (lol), all the talking to the ball and talking Greller's ear off after shots, etc. all showed me how he's a bit of a head case. I bet Greller says "yep" more than any one in the world. But like others have said, apparently he's always been like this. Him trying to be more stoic and stiff could be detrimental to his game. I quite like Jordan though (he's not my favorite, but I'm a fan), so I may be biased I suppose.
  19. Love it bro I had a Veestro meal tonight. Pesto Pizza
  20. It’s not. The underlined part is what the author said. The bolder part is what you added. I guess the author assumes that if you don’t know how to do it, then you won’t be stupid by trying to do it and will find someone who can. Like take it to, I dunno, a store, that offers such services.
  21. It’s not though. It’s just a bad battery; it’ll work once you replace the battery. Far from a paperweight. If you mess it up, so that it won’t work even if you put in a new battery, then you have a paperweight. 😀
  22. Also, you don’t go making changes just because you’re having bad rounds. That’s what us stupid am’s do. It’s golf, and it’s hard. He has a great track record off the tee. He should stick with what he’s doing because it’s working. You don’t lead the Tour by a large margin over the course of the majority of the season, unless you’re really freaking good. Bad funks happen. It’s golf. Yeah but like I said below, it’s golf. He’s leading the Tour in SG off the tee by a large margin just like Morikawa is with approach play. You don’t go making drastic changes just because you’re in a funk. It worked before and it’ll work again. You just gotta do what got you there. Don’t discount a whole season just because of a couple of bad rounds.
  23. Again, the guy already hits driver over 130’ in the air at its apex with a 5*. You want him to play an even higher lofted driver that will make him launch it even higher and with more spin at a British Open, where it’s quite blustery? 🤔 Even assuming that the higher lofted driver is slightly more forgiving, I don’t think this is the play. I guess it could work if he went the Cameron Champ route by hitting down on his driver and hitting low bullets, but other than that, I’m going to disagree. Moreover, that would be a pretty big change in technique for Bryson to make over night. Again, it’s the swing, dude, not the driver.
  24. That 5* has also won him a USO and other tournaments while killing the Tour in SG off the tee as well. Sometimes your swing just isn’t there. Maybe extra loft would help, but then again, maybe not. He already hits the ball so high. If he added loft, the ball will just go higher and with more spin because spin loft will increase. A high flying, higher spinning driver won’t necessarily help him out any more than what he’s doing. It’s easy to call something out when things aren’t going well, but I don’t recall many talking about his driver when he was playing really well. In fact, the only thing people were talking about was his approach play and wedge play holding him back.
  25. The only thing I’ve found that helps to keep the trail arm a little straighter, for me anyway, is the feeling of higher hands at the top.
