Very easy for me. Driver and hope I reach the white marker.  I carry 220 with no wind.

Cut driver into the fairway. 7- or 8-iron over water to a straight-on 80 yard wedge shot to the pin. Honestly, anything approaching 400 yards is a 3-shot hole for me anymore. Trying to play driver, 3-wood is a double waiting to happen. Having that managable wedge shot leaves me with an opportunity for par or a 2-putt bogey at worst. dave

I normally play a draw off the tee, so I can work this hole. Draw the ball back away from the fairway bunkers, and see what happens. If it stays in the fairway or light rough, I've got a 5i or 4H into green depending on distance.

If it's a shaggy, sidehill lie after tee shot, I'll lay up short of the center greenside bunker. Then, either pitch or chip to get up and down. I play chip and run more than most Americans, so it should be an interesting hole.

Key thing on this hole: Play your shot and see what happens. Take it as it comes, and don't try to be a hero.

Focus, connect and follow through!

Driver down the middle 250, then whatever is left. In reality, amazingly sliced tee into the woods, followed by 4 equally impressive crap shots to the fringe... duffed chip leaving me 3 putts from 20 feet.

I'd be impressed if your ball found the woods on a links course. I believe the right side is all heavy rough but it's OB.

That does seem like a pretty tough hole. I'm going 3W off the tee to the corner, trying to incorporate a slight fade that cuts around the bunkers, though straight wouldn't be bad. Then I'm looking at probably a 6 iron into the green, or 5 iron if my tee shot is down the left side.

Same for me.

We played a pro am this year with a local pro called Mike Helyard. He's only 20 and only got his euro pro tour card last year, but he was a crazy long hitter. I think he said his swing speed was 125 and he only knew of a handful of pros that were quicker, and watching him swing I can fully believe it. Anyway he took aim at the green with a slight helping wind. Hit the right green side bunker and got up and down for 3. Different game.

If 125mph swing speed with slight helping wind gets to the greenside bunker, then with calm wind or helping wind I'm taking driver over the right 1/3 of the lake.  If the driver's been super poorly behaved that day, or there's a hurting wind, I'd hit 2h at the marker.  Don't mind a smooth 7i into the green.

Nice golf hole!

I wouldn't use any specific club from the tee.  I would look at the conditions of the day and choose a club that would keep my ball short of the water if I accidentally cut the corner too much.   I'd be aiming left of the bunkers, but I don't want to hit the water if I am offline.  I'd try to hit the ball 230'ish....and use whichever club based on the conditions of the day to get me there.   Club choice could be anything from 3wood to 4-rescue.....

I'd hit a 6-7-iron approach in from about 170yds........ for me, this is a no-brainer.  A 260carry over water is a big stretch for me, so playing a club that will not reach the water is the only play even when I'm aiming to the left of it.
