After 2 PGA tour wins, a respectable showing at his first open and now tied for 1st and the CDN open I'm starting to see this young guy really make waves.

He's got an amazing swing, and very long for his frame. When his flatstick is on, he's tough to beat. One thing he has over the other young stars is mental toughness or ego, whichever you want to look at it. He's learned how to turn his cockiness into confidence.

How many wins do you think AK will rack up this year? For me, Adam Scott and Sergio have been busts as far as a challenge to Tiger's throne. And Phil is not getting any younger.

Golf needs someone for Tiger to compete with day in day out.

If he keeps it up with some more top 10 finishes(including) he could turn into something big.

I'm very excited to see that there's a new strong contender playing the PGA tour this year. Ak is definitely making some positive noise, and I think he's even caught Tiger's ear.

He's impressive. Before you can call him a contender though he needs to win a big tournament. Sergio and Adam have PLAYERS Championships under their belts. AK definitely is off to a great start in his young career though and I hope he keeps it up. He's definitely a favorite in the PGA Championship in my opinion.

It will be fun to see him play and contend, I haven't yet seen a lot of his game and look foward to seeing a lot more. If he wants to excell he has to make those short putts.

Tiger goes on streaks where he makes like 150+ in a row from inside 4'.

I liked what I saw at The Open. I thought he would fold at his first links experience but he stood up to the elements and finished strong. He definitely has the desire. I was glad to see that he's taking the game more seriously and has a clearer perspective of the opportunity ahead of him.

If he keep this up he has a chance to finish very impressive. At least one more win and several top 10s before they all call it a year.

He won the Wachovia and the AT&T;, and both of those tournaments are quickly establishing themselves as pretty top-level tournaments.

He's also winning at a faster rate than either of those players have.

He's definitely turning some heads. I can see him and Tiger duking it out in 2009. Can't wait!

Yeah, I really like Kim. I think he has a ton of potential, a great looking golf swing...he doesn't really have so much pressure to win a tour event since he got two so soon...Guys like Bubba Watson crack on the final day because they feel that pressure to get that win...but now Kim's pressure will be to win a major...hopefully him or Bubba can win the PGA Champ.

Hey, I wonder how many yards he loses on each club by choking down? lol.

Agreed, but the reason why they have established themselves as big time events is because Tiger is usually in the field.

WRONG...In 2001 Sergio Garcia was hot as well picking up his very first two quick victories in the timeframe of just a month with wins at the Mastercard Colonial and Buick Classic. I can't say the same for Adam Scott though. He tends to win at a slow pace.

However, I do hope that Kim keeps playing well and wins alot. I think Chamblee predicted Kim to be number 1 in the world once Tiger retires. It's possible. Kim has the game and swagger.

I've been singing praises of Anthony Kim for a year and a half now. Yes, I think he's got a ton of wins under the buckle on his future belt. And a major. I see him winning the career slam... or at least, I see each major within his reach. Probably the PGA Championship first.

Note, too, that he has never missed the cut in a major.

Anthony Kim is the real deal.

I can see him winning multiple Majors more than I can see from Garcia or Scott - both who seem to constantly flatter to deceive these days: how long have people been picking them to win Majors? Or, bar Garcia last year - even get close?
The Open last week - Kim's 1st - he got to T7 in his in less-then-perfect conditions.

BTW, as arrogant as he comes across, he seems to have a very dry sense-of-humor too....also read on another forum that during practice at the Nissan Open that he was hitting stingers at the range-cart as the guy was picking up the balls and had to be asked to stop doing it.

Ditto - I just knew he was on the verge of greatness (still not quite there yet of course). I just hope he doesn't pull a Sergio.

BTW - off topic sorry - but why wouldn't the Golf Channel broadcast coverage from earlier in the day yesterday at the Canadian? I know it was rained out, but clearly they had some footage they held back and did interviews and reruns instead? I really wanted to see more highlights (at the very least) from Mike and Anthony.

I like what this kid has to offer, kind of brash but has the game to back it up. Wouldn't be surprised if he play a big role in the Ryder Cup with Tiger out. Got to love the belt buckle too!

Pardon me, but that's not wrong. This is AK's second season on the PGA Tour. He's won twice. At no point did Sergio have a rate that high (counted by full years of play). He didn't win two until his third year on Tour. AK has done so in his second year, and it's not even over yet. If you look at events, it's 40 to 41 - not a big margin. Sergio went winless in several events in 2002 and 2003, finally winning twice again in 2004.

So give it time. It's far too early to compare AK to the perpetual under-achiever that is Sergio Garcia. He's been on Tour for 10+ years already.
