Terminator 2 is probably the best movie sequel ever, in my mind. Godfather II is up there, too. Offhand, I can't think of anything else that's close to those, but third would probably be Dead Man's Chest .

Alternately, if you're counting the new Bond series as continuous, I thought Quantum of Solace was a pretty good "sequel" to Casino Royale .

It definitely was NOT Caddyshack 2! No way.

There have been a lot, but of movies I have seen recently, Meet the Fockers was a ton better than Meet the Parents!

For a recent reference the Dark Knight was pretty sick. Having said that I am a huge fan of the entire Star Wars/Star Trek Line. Indiana Jones is an awesome series minus the latest edition. The X-Men line was great, as were most of the Spiderman. Pirates was great as well.

Where I play: Mission Viejo CC and

The Godfather 2 was pretty good. I especially liked seeing Don Corleone as a young man and seeing how he came to power.

But my favorite sequel, if you call it that, would be Goldfinger. It was WAY better than Dr.No.

-Bourne Supremacy

-Die Hard 2 -Terminator 2 and my favourite: Titanic 2: The Surface
The X-Men line was great

Was? They're making a fourth one. I didn't realise until I met Liev Schreiber on his way back from shooting it in Australia. Should be out next year.

I'll second either Empire Strikes Back or Terminator 2. Probably have to go with Terminator 2.

It's definitely not Caddyshack 2.

Anyone like Saw?

There was a thread about the Saw movies that did not do so hot on this site.

I will go out on a limb a bit here and say that though the content of the movies is disturbing, the story arc they carried through the sequals with the plot twists and the like is pretty amazing (though very sick, twisted and depraved). The film series has been pretty good in keeping you on your toes and it has not been a simple WYSIWYG hack and slash, but a story that has many plots within plots giving you just enough information to lead you down the wrong path before a good twist, but not over using the story technique. In the end it has been interesting to see something fairly cerebral in the horror genere of film and I am interested to see how they wrap up the franchise as they do have a planned end. -E

There may never be a better sequel than The Godfather 2. Back to back Best Picture Oscars for GF and GF2. Hard to top.

Sadly, one of the worst ever sequels was GF3!

Sabrina is one of the best in my opinion.

The affair to remember with Warren Beatty was one of the worst in my humble opinion.
