Absolutely! How would you rate your control? Keep it on the fairway and your distance will get longer as you grow and your experience deepens.

i am 14 years old and about 5"2 i hit it average about 180. is that good?

Yes, you'll also find as you grow taller, you'll be able to get more leverage in your swing and hit it farther, or course you will also be stronger so that will help. Your distance is great, so just work on keeping it in the fairway and you will be golden. There is a 13 year old at my home course that shoots like 70-71 average and hits his driver around 220.

as long as you're keeping it straight and you can put it where you want, that's fine. but if you hit another club just as far but more accurately, namely a long iron. then, i'd suggest hitting that club and getting some lessons to make your driver more efficient. at your age, lessons are of utmost importance. this is a game you will play, hopefully, for many long years to come. you need to have a strong basic foundation, from which to build upon. because without that, you will find yourself in ten years wondering why you've still not broken 90.

At age 14 I was 6'3", the same height I am now.

I also averaged 180 yards off the tee. I clock it a good 210 now and I even hit the fairway a couple of times a round.

That is pretty good. When I was 13 (almost 14), I was averaging about 210 (5'5'' tall). Then, I hit puberty and im 15 years old, 5'11'' tall, and average about 270-280. You'll grow in distance as your body grows, but don't factor out distance for accuracy. I'd take 250 in the fairway over 280 in the rough any day.

As you can tell by the replies here - the distance will come and with your kind of accuracy you're well on your way to a solid game. Good luck

Your distance isn't bad by any means but a question? Are you still using kids clubs at your age? My son is 11 and about 4'10" and he averages over 180 off the tee this year. I've had more than one pro tell me to get him into the biggest clubs possible as soon as possible. This spring I took the 14 gram weight out of an old r7 driver I had laying around and replaced it with another 2 gram weight. So basically I took 12 grams of weight out of a grownup's driver and he has really been nailing it. He's hit quite a few drives well over 200 yards and like I said is averaging over 180.

If your still in kids clubs you might want to consider trying some bigger clubs if your looking to gain some distance. Of course like anything you should be fitted by a pro and the weight shouldn't effect your swing mechanics!

Good Luck!

there is a point where thats not always true.

Name a few.

A quote from Kris
...is that college bball really isn't "lower tier". The better teams have their rosters filled with guys who could play in the NBA. hell, guys used to come straight from high school to the NBA. I really don't think there's much of a difference skill-wise between the two.
