Michael Vick signed with the Eagles.

"Vick can immediately take part in preseason practices, workouts and meetings and can play in the final two preseason games.

Once the season begins, Vick may participate in all team activities except games, and Goodell said he would consider Vick for full reinstatement by Week 6 (Oct. 18-19) at the latest."

What are your views on him back in the NFL and with the Eagles?

I'm glad a team signed him. I guess he'll help the Eagles out when he can finally play since he's definately a better back up QB than their current back up. They could also do some crazy plays with him. They did a few reverses and double reverses last year with some recievers and Vick could add to this. I think I'll actually watch a pre-season game this year.

Don't doubt that Vick makes some big plays this year. He easily makes the highlight reels whether he does or not.

I still cant get over the fact that Vick killed dogs and got 24 months jail, while Donte Stallworth killed a human while high and drunk and got under a month. At least Goodell suspended him for the year. I do think that Goodell was a little excessive on Vick's punishment.

Hmm... he isn't playing tonight against the Patriots. Guess they wanted him to have a chance to win his first game back, or was it too soon?

He is still suspended from playing, he can only practice. As an Eagles fan, I still don't know how to feel. If I were McNabb though, I might be a bit angry.

The Eagles are my team and I will gladly take him. Our offense is full of weapons. We have Westbrook, Jackson, Maclin, McCoy, and Vick.

McCoy is disgusting. Out of all those names on that list, as a Cowboys fan, he will worry me the most in the future. I remember watching him his freshman year at Pitt, he literally carried that team to the top 25 ranking. He was also the reason WVU did not make it to the national championship 2 years ago. I don't think Maclin is anything special, to be completely honest. He played in a joke of a division, Big 12 North, and I don't think his speed will be as big for him going up against NFL corners.

And congratulations on Vick... I was hoping Jerry Jones would finally realize how we won all those Super Bowls in the 90s, with convicts , and therefore would pick him up. Dang.

Stallworth and Vick were completely different cases. Vicks was tried as a federal crime, while Stallworth was on a local level. Federal crimes usually get harsh punishment. Vick lied to prosecutors and didn't help them when he said he would, while Stallworth was upfront about what happened and never tried to get out of it. He also didn't plea "not guilty". Vick maliciously and purposefully killed dogs, made them fight, and bankrolled a dog fighting ring, while Stallworth act was for all intents and purposes an accident. Stallworth wasn't completely at fault either. The guy he hit darted out from in between cars. Stallworth also has a thousand hours of community service, house arrest for a couple of years, and lost his license for the rest of his LIFE. That being said, I don't condone drunk/high driving or dog fighting. I don't think Vick should have been in jail for very long.

Why should McNabb be angry? Because he has a competent back up? Vick will in no way push McNabb for the starting job for the next couple of years and McNabb knows it. McNabb actually lobbied the team to get Vick.

I think it is too much too soon for Michael Vick to be back playing. He needs, say, six months of 'freedom' to prove that he will not revert to his former (or other?) illegal or immoral activities. He needs to demonstrate some maturity for a while; by giving him the $ and the public approval, he could well be tempted into returning to bad habits.

Vick did his time and deserved the punishment...now he deserves a chance to earn a living once again in the NFL.

I think it was a good signing for Philly - with that said, I don't picture him making too big of an impact with this team, at least not this upcoming season.

At least I hope not.

McNabb's a pretty versatile QB. He can launch it a mile, and if necessary can scramble. But I definitely think he's a pass first; run second guy. Mike Vick's the exact opposite. Vick probably won't see a ton of playing time for the next 3 years or so.

I personally don't want to see him playing, but football should keep his mind on the game, instead of reverting to something as stupid as dogfighting. If he messes up again I'm pretty sure he would be done with the NFL for life... which I thought he was before

McNabb wanted Vick there. And it's McNabb's team. There's no way Vick is taking the starting job from him.

Vicks was tried as a federal crime, while Stallworth was on a local level. Federal crimes usually get harsh punishment.

Here in New Jersey, if you kill someone with a car and a DUI, you get tried for murder, not manslaughter or whatever he got tried for. In NJ, if you drink and drive, car accidents (and deaths/injuries resulting from them) aren't "accidents". He's lucky he wasn't in another state when the accident occurred.

I really hope that Goodell lets Vick play before week 6.

I really thought Vick would end up in one of three places: 1) Oakland - because Al Davis is notoriously bad for selecting players based solely on speed and that aren't necessarily productive for his system 2) Detroit - They ended up with Stafford though, so that's that 3) Miami - Parcells could control him and keep him in check, but just imagine the wildcat with Vick and Ronnie Brown!

But I was worng, good for Vick though, Im glad.

Stallworth gets community service for killing a human. Vick gets 2 years for allowing his some dogs to fight on his land. Ray Lewis gets indicted for murder and aggravated assualt and only get a $250,000 fine.... Somethings wrong here..

Vick with the bEAgles....should work out well.

McNab will need someone to take over when he's injured by midseason. Don't flame for saying this. I really like McNab watched him play in college...live....a couple of games...I'm just saying that he's gonna be on the pine and injured by midseason.

It will prove to be the best 1.5 mil that the Eagles have ever spent, I believe.

Hopefully Vick will act right and not go thug again. It's a shame that he didn't look to Tony Dungy before he followed the thug life..........Atlanta may be sitting on a couple of recent Superbowl performances.......and they'd remanmed all the Peachtree streets after him....

    • Welcome to TST @Camjr.   We're glad you've joined.
    • Angle is not a factor. I hit the ball 100’ high. Par is net birdie. My CH is 16. The rough between the bunkers is like 10’ wide though. That’s not something you’re going to try to hit on purpose. Most of the area to the left of that is fescue/native vegetation and I’m pretty sure there isn’t a flat lie in any of it. It’s the second hole.
    • Hello all.  I'm about to be 57 yrs old, started playing when I was 16, and have quit and restarted the game more times than I can count.  I had started playing a weekly round with a friend, and finally made the jump to Senior A shafted Tour Edge clubs.  Instantly gained 10 yds with an easier swing (why didn't I make that jump sooner???).  Glad to be a part of the group. Cheers all,
    • I think I like this hole.  It is a clear "Risk-Reward" choice.  Since most of the shots in your cone cleared the bunkers I would say they are a minor risk and not a big issue.  Playing the aggressive line may give you 70ish yards in from what looks to be playable rough while conservative play is 120ish from fairway.  I know you said 70 vs 120 is minor for you but how does the approach angle in impact your results?  I figure both strategies are playing for Birdie since holing out from either is mostly luck. Looking at your proximity hole I think it says @ 50 feet when hitting from the fairway from 100-150 and 40 feet if hitting 50-100 from the rough.  Neither of those is an easy birdie putt.   I like the approach angle from the rough between the bunkers & the adjacent tees over the angle from @ 120 in the fairway but I really do not like the idea of hitting onto the adjacent tee boxes and that may impact my confidence with making the shot.  Also, too far left may be a worse approach angle then from the fairway short of the bunkers. For me this may come down to how confident do I feel when I reach that tee box.  If I am stroking it well off the tee leading up to the hole I would try for over the bunkers and the better angle in but if I am struggling that day I would likely opt for the fairway to take more bad stuff out of play.
