What to use to clean Irons & Wedge grooves during round???

currently i use a small tee to clean the grooves off the irons & wedges when getting dirty. however, tee has become less & less sharper. i know i can get another tee but was trying to see if i can use something that will be permanantly.

i know about the wet towel & such but was looking for an equipment like a small tee but i guess doesn't wear.

thanks in advance.

I use a brass and nylon brush and a wet towel... why would you want anything else when this combo works to perfection?

Some spit in a towel.

I have a scrubbing brush I cut along the short side and put a lightweight chain through with a chainring holding it together. Then wipe the clubs down with a towel.

Not to state that this is a fact but i was recently out at golf galaxy looking at those brass nylon combo brushes and one of the employees told me that the brass side of that brush will damage the face of your clubs. I actually wanted some clarification on this too

If the brush is just nylon and brass it should not hurt an iron or wedge since most if not all are steel or steel alloy ( stainless ) true brass is softer and won't cut into them. Drivers, fairway woods and hybrids are softer and should only be cleaned with a wet towel. The brushes to stay away from are the phosphor bronze. They are harder than brass and can hurt club faces.

what about those frogger brushes, do they damage irons and wedges?

In hot weather, you have to wet down your club towel every three holes or so. Good to have second dry towel for hands.

If you play on sticky clay turf, it's hard to keep grooves or ball clean.

Nope. Those are actually the best kind of brushes to buy. I had one (Until I lost it....because I'm amazing at losing things....) and it worked wonders. But, I stick to a wet towel now. Ever notice how clean and free of dirt your grooves are in your clubs when someone cleans them with a wet towel after your round (if done right)? A wet towel is the best thing for a dirty club. You can also get your frustrations out by rubbing as hard as you can and you won't damage your club

And afterwards, you'll be like "OO SHINY". And get distracted. And play terribly. It's a win-win situation.

I've used other brushes before but finally last spring I bought the frogger and couldn't be happier. Great brush, groove cleaner, etc. The changeable head is awesome. On top of that the retractable cord and big handle make it so easy to use. Highly recommended!

A wet towel. I dip it in a lake or wet it before the round, one end. It works great for me.

Frogger brush is the way to go. The absolute best brush I have found. I have used the brass and nylon head to clean my irons for over a year and they have never looked better.

Wet towel followed by a dry towel, nothing better.

Hilarious...wouldn't be caught dead with a brush on a golf course. Wet towel is all you need.
