For those of you who've played this ball, have you had any issue in launch angle? From my understanding, this ball is supposed to promote a straight ballflight (versus the e7 which is supposed to have a penetrating flight).

I usually hit the ball pretty high. I'm also fairly long and have tried all sorts of balls to keep the ballflight down off the tee. I would say for reference purposes that my average drive carries 240+. I tried this ball last week and its a laser off the tee. I've never played a ball that I couldn't get in the air. This ball carried maybe 200 and rolled the last 50. Unreal. Even irons/wedges had lower ballflights.

Has anyone else had similar experiences? Or was it just a weird ballstriking day? I only played the one ball, and hit it into the woods on 9, so couldn't experiment further.

I've played two boxes of the E6+ over the past year or so. I play them whever I start slicing off the tee. You know....cause that'll fix the problem, right? haha!

I also tend to have a high trajectory. While I did find the E6+ to fly lower than my usual ball (Noodle - Softest), I didn't think it was significantly lower.

I don't know if there is any difference between the former E6+ and the newer E6 ball.

Great ball, though!

Love the E6+.... As far as trajectory the fewer dimples a ball has the higher the ball flight. DT carry's have 252 are are way high. More dimples, DT roll, has 392 and will have a lower ball flight. I think the E6+ has around 333 dimples. More of a mid ball flight.

Interesting... Like I'm talking 50% lower ball flight. This wasn't subtle by any means. Just curious...

What's the history of that particular ball you were playing? I'll tell you why I ask. My initial results-opininions with the ProV1 were based on experiences I had with found balls. That certainly was unfair because "fresh-from-the-box" ammo performed much, much better.

Maybe you had a recovered ball that had been out in the elements and was diminished in performance.

I got the ball from a buddy who bought a box and had the same problem. He couldn't get them 20 feet off the ground. His swing speed is probably in the low 90s though. Mine's closer to 115. The ball was brand new.

That's odd....E6's are good balls And I've never heard of this problem. Maybe a bad box of balls or older stock that was subjected to to much heat or something. Get a new sleeve of them and give them another try. I think you could have a better experience with them. Just a thought, but really hard to say for sure.

A buddy of mine threw me an e6 to try out and I loved it. I never did hit it with the driver (we aren't speaking) but the feel and flight i got with my irons was awesome. Pretty average distance (I was playing on the coast), but my shots shaped nicely. Has anyone found a good deal on these anyplace in particular?

  • 3 weeks later...
Long story short: Tried the Bridgestone e6 for the first time today. It was like magic.

I had a rough range warmup before a round with my parents today. A lesson earlier in the morning with my instructor wanting me to change 3 things all at once (address 1 inch closer, straighten out swing path, make swing plane more vertical) wasn't helping. In fact, I didn't hit any decent shots with anything longer than a 6i. As I walked over to the first tee, I contemplated playing short irons only for the day. But I didn't, and things turned around quickly on course. Some of it undoubtedly is a placebo effect. But given that the effect lasted the entire round, I think there's something to this ball.

Got to the first hole, teed up the ball and pulled out the driver. Nailed the ball, got a nice long drive with an ever so slight draw, right down the middle of the fairway. And the driver magic continued throughout the round. Didn't hit all the fairways, but misses were because of pulling or pushing, not because of hook or slice. In only two cases did I notice appreciable side spin on my driver. For me, that's like magic. As long as I didn't top the ball (no ball will help with that!), my fairway woods were like magic today, too.

Felt great on short to medium irons, too. Nice high trajectory, nice soft landings. Always very straight, with misses due to pulling or pushing. I hit pretty high and get soft landings anyways, but the ball seems to climb even higher than the Srixon Soft Feel that I was using before. And the almost complete lack of hooking and slicing was in sharp contrast to the range warmup before the round. Long irons were a bit of a mess today, but even then, with one exception, they went pretty straight.

No problems putting, chipping, or pitching with the ball. I felt great putting with the ball. Pitches stopped faster than I was used to. (This last point may or may not have more to do with technique changing due to a pitching mini-lesson at the end of my lesson, though.) I didn't lose any balls in the round, and the ball is in excellent shape despite hitting some trees. I'll see how future rounds go, but so far, it was like magic out there today. Unless things happened to click from my lesson during the walk from the range to the course, I must attribute some of that to the ball.

To think that I almost decided to play my entire round with short irons only after the range warmup went so terribly wrong. I'm glad I didn't do so. I'm sold on the anti-side spin claims for the ball. That little bit of help did so much for confidence... I just had to make solid contact and the ball flight was almost always a gentle draw or fade. Magic, I tell you.

Yup. e6 is a sexy ball. I have a 2 dozen balls in each of my bags ... no other ball but the e6. I shot my first -6 round once I switched to this ball. My game has improved Dramatically thanks to Bridgestone. Yum.

I love the e6+. I had never hit a Bridgestone ball before 3 weeks ago but after reading a thread here about balls for higher handicap golfers I decided to buy some AAAA recycled e6+. Great ball. I ended up buying 24 AAAAA recycled balls last week and am going to play exclusively the e6+ for my next few rounds.

Another e6 lover here. It's the only so called straight ball that actually is straighter than most other balls. I've been playing it and the NXT Extreme, but the e6 is a better ball for me. I've tried a lot of balls, but keep returning to the e6.

Is there a significant difference between the e6 and the e6+? If so, what is it? Every shop I go into has either one or the other, but never both.

I've gamed the e6+ for a month or so. I found it straighter of the tee no doubt. However, that is the extent of the ball I found good. Approach shots from 170+ yards are hard to hold a green, and chipping and putting felt a bit inconsistent. Durability isnt good at all. I had wedge teeth marks all over the ball after 4-5 holes. I use it when greens are soft and fairways are narrow. Dont get me wrong, I'm an avid Bridgestone 330 user. I find it the best among all my gaming needs along with the ProV1x.

And myself. :)

Played a little par three course on Sunday and shot 5 over, which is pretty good for me. Chipping and putting went very well when I missed the greens in regulation...so I can't complain yet. The e6 seems to be pretty good, but won't really know till I hit the regular course this weekend. So far so good.
