Anyone currently gaming one? Very curious about it ever since I rolled some putts with it at Golf Galaxy today. Want to hear some amateur golfer reviews.

Since this tread is a couple of months old I just wanted to hear if anyone has this club in their bag.
I tried it today and is considering to buy the blade version of the club.
But wanted to hear in here what people here think about it.

I recently added the 2-Ball Backstryke and I absolutely love it. I had played a dual rossie for 14 years and my wife bought me a Scotty Del-Mar California as a wedding present and could not get the feel for it. I guess I am an odyssey guy when it comes to putters.

After getting used to the odd look when standing over the ball, the design really helps with a staight take away and the same through the ball. I would recommend taking a look at one at your local golf shop.

Had 26 putts my first round using it, was the only thing in my bag that kept me under 80 that day.

Take this for what its worth, I am a first year hacker, had an older hand-me-down odyssey 2ball. I never hit good with the putter, my wifes grandpa, they guy who gave it to me said it was cursed. I ended up having to part with that putter (long story) right around my birthday. My wife surprised me with the new back stryke 2ball because I wanted to replace the old one with the same one. I am not putting spectacular yet, but I am sinking more puts in general, and doing much better on longer putts then before. The line of sight is much improved and I am able to align it much better.

Watery grave or did you "accidentally" snap the shaft over your knee?

I tried one and hated it. It seemed nice, but the feel and weighting weren't right. As a lefty, there weren't a lot of options to fool around with, but I wasn't convinced. Maybe if they did a backstryke based on one of their more tried-and-true models, and made it for lefties, I might like it.

I have a hard time with the center-shafted putter thing, period. To me and how I learned to putt when I was a kid, it seems like you have to change a lot in your setup because the ball is now an inch closer to you (relative to the shaft, which is what you're moving through the hitting area). Moving a center shaft back is even weirder.

I bought the Marxman version about 1 month ago, loved it in the store but on the course was a different matter. I simply did not look right to my eye. I took it back and traded it in for a Kombi S which looks much better/feels better to me. I have many putters, was looking for a mallet as a diversion from my anser style putters, the Backstryke did not do it for me.

I was listening to the Edwin Watts golf podcast earlier this week and they were talking about the center shafted putters versus the heel shafted. One thing that they pointed out is that the putters are really for two different styles of putting stroke. The center shafted putters are for people who take the putter straight back then straight through while the heel shafted putters are better for a more in-square-in stroke.

One of the designers was saying that if you're an "in-square-in" putter then the center shafted versions will fight you. Just something to consider.

I replaced my cheap Voit putter with the Backstryke Marxman. I had been hesitating for a while because I don't like the look of it. I have done 2 sessions on the putting green, and I have been struggling with it... It looks weird at adress. I was rather confident with my Voit, but now I have lost consistency. Maybe it's just a normal transition-proces I have to get through, but I almost expected it to put by itself going by the reviews! I thought my hands where already forward with my old putter, but this forward press thing is very different.
I lost my confidence with the Marxman. I hope with some practice this will come back...

I have had the 2-ball version in my bag for about 3 weeks and really love it. I went from a Saber tooth to the backstryke, and have had a noticeable improvement in my putting. I feel really confident over the ball, straight back and through- really solid.
