I had a 6:32 tee at the FireWheel Bridges course yesterday morning... played my 18, came in to get some breakfast, and my buddy showed up, so I played another 18... we weren't quite convinced we had fully covered it, so we played 4 more holes... I have never played a full 40 holes at one time before, and I was BEAT. and... my scores showed it - I was 8 over for my 1st 18, then I was 8 over for my 3rd nine, and 12 over for my 4th nine - I could not control the shots to save my life after 27, but it became interesting to see what trouble I could get myself into and back out of, lol...

anybody else ever play 40 holes at once? could you even grip a club when done?

I used to walk 36 all the time when I just got out of school and didn't have a real job. I was around a 13 HC at the time and I don't remember falling off that bad. I played the easier course second always but I felt it more in my legs than anywhere. I was pretty thin and in shape that summer. I was walking 90 holes plus a week. Sweet memories. Now I'm lucky to play 27 a week.

I've been playing 36 every other weekend since my home course is on temp greens.

My best scores are always on the 2nd and 3rd nine (no driving range).

I would never say I am exhausted but the beer probably does a number on the final 9 holes (each round generally takes us 2.5-3 hours with us taking 1/2 hour break in between)

When I was a kid I caddied at the local country club - 3 loops per day was not unusual. Now, 35 years later, the most I've walked is 27 but my shots were getting pretty ugly. Cart, no problem with 36.

Last year at age 28 I walked 64 in a day. We started at about 7:30 that morning and didn't finish until after dark. The whole intent was to see how many we could walk in one day. The first two rounds were pretty slow but the third and fourth went pretty fast. Surprisingly the first round was my worst of the day and the third was the best. I was pretty tired after the whole ordeal too.

I've played 54 riding once. I was exhausted. I walked quite a bit the first 18, as I was with a foursome. The other 36 was just myself and another guy. The last 9 holes, I think I was hitting 1 or 2 clubs extra on each shot from the first 18.

I did a charity day in November 2008 -

- teed off at 06:50 - finished at 08:30 - had the course to myself. Used a buggy for the rest of the day
- teed off next at 08:45, finished at 10:30
- next round at 10:45, finished at 12:30
- next round at 12:45 finished at 14:30
- last round at 14:45 finished at 16:15 (barely able to see the ball due to fading light)

90 holes of golf in a single day - raised £1600 for Children in Need and had muscles aching the next day that I didn't know existed!!!

Nothing like doing 40 minutes of circuit training during lunch break, then going out a few hours later and play 9 holes walking in 85+ humid weather.. I was about dead last night, i am still exhausted.

Usually i could walk 18 with no problems, and be good for the rest of the day. If i walked 36 i would probably thinkg i would be a bit tired, probably need a nap ;b

I played 36 holes one time down in Oklahoma back about 1999. It was early June, 90 degrees, but the breeze was cool!

So, I walked the first 27 holes, carrying my own bag. I switched to a cart for the final nine. The reason: ground was so hard, it bruised the soles of my feet, and my feet and ankles were sore the next two days.

I shot in the mid-80s for both rounds - helped in part by the hard ground and the ridiculous roll I got on my drives.

On a course with moister turf, I could have walked all 36.

Focus, connect and follow through!

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
