I have played with the same starter set for 4 years, and the other day the head of my driver actually snapped off. So I am going to buy my first single club ever. I have narrowed it down to three drivers, each $150 each.

I went and tested all three... and honestly I couldn't really feel a big difference. They all felt comfortable. I am not experienced in evaluating how a club feels.

So, if anyone knows if any of these are clearly better than another, or has another suggestion in the same price range, I would be open to that advice. For the record, I have trouble with my slice, and I am not a really hard hitter.

If they are all the same I will probably just get the Taylormade since I like how it looks the best, and the burner golf balls are on sale

Those prices are crazy. Dicks is a ripoff.

But I would get the first.

Those are just a couple I check often. If you have a golf galaxy near you their pre-owned rack has pretty good prices, as I got my R9 for $150, in mint condition. I love going to dicks to look around and try stuff, but they are pretty steep. Shop around. But, that first driver is really good.

I bought a Nike and love it.

Here is a link for where I purchased mine. The seller is on ebay but also has an online store. I've purchased this driver from them as well as my 3 wedges. Great, service, 3 day shipping to Canada.

I reccomend the Hi Bore Monster. It is nice and straight. Its MOI is near the limit so it helps to minimize bad misses. The drawback with this club is loudness. I have it and every time I hit it the sound rings my ears. But that is fine for me.

I bought my current driver from Pinemeadow Golf - their BK Command. The price was well under your limit (and has at times recently been reduced). It has played very well for me now for over a year. It has three weight ports. Give it a thought.

Preowned "very good" condition clubs would be the most valuable if you don't mind not having new, or latest/greatest

You might want to try 3ballsgolf.com. I bought my Callaway Big Bertha Diablo as an "open box" special for $129.00. None of the drivers you discussed is exactly my cup of tea but I'd be willing to bet 3 Balls would beat Dick's in terms of price. You also would get a free 1 year subscription to Golf Digest to boot.

I recommend the Nike. In the last year and a half I've played the Diablo, Titleist 907 D1 and D2, 983E, and the Nike SQ Dymo Str8-Fit. All good clubs but the Nike is the straightest and longest of the bunch.

I bought the Burner 09 this week at edwin Watts. Paid $129.99 for it. Had a very small paint chip where I guess it had been banged with another driver so he knock off $20. The Dymo hit really well, I just like the Taylormade a little more.

Go to Golf Galaxy or Dicks and hit several shots with each driver in the simulator - that will tell you which one to buy. Then go to Rock Bottom or one of the other cheaper sites mentioned and buy it there.

i own the taylormade and love it. although i really haven't tried the other two very much, i would still go with the burner. I'm sure all three are very good drivers, but i have to say the taylormade looks by far the best.

My buddy has the TM, and he likes it a lot. Of course the shaft he has is a pro shaft that's the size of KJ choi's putter grip. I have the DYMO, and it is a pretty good club, but you don't exactly get a "solid feel."

In the bag:
