So UFC fans, can anybody beat Brock? I know he's an arrogant Pri*k, but heck, you gotta admit he's one bad dude.
Just wondering if anybody out there thinks anybody has a legitimate chance at beating him. And yes, I know Frank Mir beat him in his first fight, but give me a break, Brock was very green in the sport and the world of jujitsu...

Finally an MMA fan here, an avid one myself. Would had like the 1st mma thread here to not be about brock, but watever it attracts new viewers.

He can lose and will lose, but it is when will it again. The sport is too multi -dimensional(unlike boxing, but I am not gonna get into that, theres no point in kicking a dead horse) to stay unbeaten, especially if you are not covering all bases.

Lesnar has found a lot of fast success because he has the best starting base, as he can control where the fight takes place. Everyone loves strikers, but they are the ones taking too many chances, so they will lose more.

I think Dos Santos has a chance, as of this moment.

Lesnar still has a lot of Pro Wrestling in him. He is a natural showman and plays up tp the crowd. He doesn't care if you love him or hate him as long as he gets a reaction from you.

But there are two main things people generally don't realize about Brock.

#1 he is a world class level wrestler. He is a 4 time NCAA National Champion and only lost 5 wrestling matches in college total. He knows how to control guys on the ground. Once he starts to learn holds and escapes he'll be unstoppable on the ground.

#2 He really is just that big. This guy is freaking huge, thanks to his Pro Wrestling days. NO ONE in the UFC comes close to him in mass and pure strength. It's hard for guys to manuver and control his limbs for submissions, and for a lot of guys, his arms and legs are so big they simply can't get ahold of them. Look at Brock and Mirs second fight. Literally all Brock did was sit on Mir and hit him over and over on the ground, there was nothing Mir could do.

If Brock is going to lose it's going to have be from striking. Brocks Chin is the one thing no one knows about, since he's never really been hit, which is why he takes everything to the ground so quickly were Brock has the advantage. An opponent is going to have to use Brocks aggressivness against him and catch him being careless.

I agree with your 2 points... he's a freak of nature, he's huge and he's fast and he's strong. But i disagree with his chin... He has a proven chin now.. did you see his last fight vs carwin He was ROCKED in round one but, he kept his composure and ended up winning the fight. Got all my respect from that. He lost that round but he didnt get knocked out and i'm talkin carwin dropped a bomb on him.

I'll take him down, and here's how. Superman punch, clinch with a few knees to the head (think Anderson Silva). He'll be down on the ground where I'll mount him from behind and choke him out with a rear naked choke. No problem!

In all seriousness, the guys is a beast and after learning his lesson after his first battle with Mir, I don't see him with that "I can take anybody down without a second thought" type attitude. Dude is pretty solid all around now. Pretty amazing comeback too after whatever that crazy stomach thing he had going on.

Carwin showed Lesnar is definitely beatable. The problem is Carwin was gassed after one round, he took Lesnar down but couldn't finish and used too much energy trying to end it early. Credit Lesnar for taking the hits and coming back. For a guy of his size Lesnar's athleticism is pretty incredible. His stand-up is not very good. If he failed to take down a striker I think he would lose. But it's unlikely he'd fail before mauling the other guy to the ground.

If Carwin gets a rematch he'll have a great shot at beating Brock. As pxc stated, if he didn't gas and have an adreneline dump he would have been able to finish him. Brock was turtled up and waiting for Carwin to gas, he was fortunate the ref didn't stop the fight due to the total number of unresponded to punches Carwin threw.

Cain could have a good shot at beating him, but Cain's smaller stature might be a problem if Lesner takes him to the mat and ground and pounds him. I dont think Junior Dos Santos or Big Country have much of a chance either.

I agree. I have been watching MMA for 17 years and have trained in a few aspects as well. I really like Dos Santos and I think he is the future of the HW division. Many people don't even see him coming.

He's good, but who the heck can just walk into the UFC and get a Title shot their 3rd fight!!??

Many fighters have gotten title shots after their 3rd fight.

#1 he is a world class level wrestler. He is a 4 time NCAA National Champion and only lost 5 wrestling matches in college total. He knows how to control guys on the ground. Once he starts to learn holds and escapes he'll be unstoppable on the ground.

Brock's NCAA wrestling really gets brought up quite a bit. There are so many wrestlers in MMA that had outstanding NCAA wrestling and you hardly ever hear about them. It is a good base, but won't win fights on it's own. Brock's chin has been tested. Mir's knee and Carwin's shot both tested Brock's chin. He may not like to get hit (and I think that will be his down fall) but he has shown that he can take a good shot.

True. Lesnar showed some weakness in that fight. He didn't really take that much either. Most of Carwin's shots were blocked by Lesnar's forearms. Carwin should have let him back up and the fight would have been over IMO.

Dos Santos has a much better chance than Cain IMO. Cain's chin looked weak against Kongo. He hits hard but not as hard as Carwin. Cain has a good chance still because of his cardio, standup, and never quit attitude. Plus he is a tough guy to hold down. Big Country can't beat him but Dos Santos beats them all.

Brock has won on his size alone IMO. His takedown in the 2nd against Carwin was terrible and I could have gotten that sub on Carwin....who pretty much gave up that arm triangle. Brock doesn't have the standup yet. His top ground game is good but we have yet to see his bottom ground game. Cain has a crazy good GnP game! As far as size is concerned, Cain being small will not be a huge factor unless he is on bottom. Randy controlled Brock and he is smaller than Cain.

The biggest thing Cain has going for him is getting Lesnar on a short turn around. (September I believe) Dos Santos is solid but his fight with Big Country will put him in the spotlight a lot more and everyone will notice him. Basically Lesnar has to be knocked out or submitted but I doubt anyone would beat him in a decision with his ground game. I wish Mir would have had more in the tank I would have liked to see them fight one more time. I'm looking forward to a lot of other fights, GSP, Evans, Rampage, and Penn fights should all be really good. I would say Silva but until they make him go up or down a weight class he will continue to dominate.

The biggest thing that impressed me about Lesnar was that he could not be beaten against Carwin. At this point Carwin was Brock's biggest threat. Dos Santos I think it a touch to small to handle Brock and he is probably #2 in terms of who can beat Brock.

Out of Carwin's 50 unanswered strikes maybe 3 struck Brock really well. There was one while standing(Brock ran away like a little girl--he does not like to get hit), there was another on the ground, and there was one elbow to the chin that made me about **** my pants. Carwin has been able to take a man down with one punch and either submit them or just KO them. He was not able to do this with Lesnar. NO one can beat Lesnar outside of an unlucky slip up.

Lesnar has an interesting future in the UFC. He has a lot of top competitors such as Dos Santos up coming. I think he will sweep Cain under the rug and show that his fight against Kongo is fighter he really is... Unable to finish fights. His fight against Nog was impressive the way he handed a defeat to a man that has previously only been beaten by guys like Mir and Fedor. Nog is washed up in my opinion and Cain didn't prove anything.

Cain can't beat Lesnar on the ground which is where the fight will end up. If Lesnar decides to stand with Cain he will be sorry but I'm confident that Lesnar isn't that stupid.

I would like to see it but I just don't think Mir will be able to get back to the top contender. Based on the rumors I'm pretty sure winner of Nelson v Dos Santos gets Lesnar next. If it's not the case I'd say the winner will fight Carwin to get Lesnar there's no way they will wait very long to get Carwin and Lesnar back in the cage again.

Lesnar took everything Carwin could dish. He still won.

Anything can happen in MMA but Lesnar is undoubtedly the best there is at this point. Better that the all mighty Fedor. Better than Mir, Carwin, Cain, Nog, Werdum. Dos Santos will be interesting but I think he's a little small for Lesnar. Mir said it himself. It doesn't matter how skilled you are Lesnar is just too big. He can overpower your wit.

I don't think Mir will be a contender unless he goes unbeated for at least a year and a half. I just don't see that happening the way Carwin man handled him. I'll put my money on Lesnar every fight.

OH yeah, I might be biased because he lives in my small town... Pretty cool, but seriously Cain won't last a round.

I disagree. I think there are a few people that can beat Lesnar. His size is the only thing that has kept him winning this long. The fighters will figure this out quickly and then Lesnar will be like everyone else.

Lesnar took everything Carwin could dish. He still won.

Lesnar is not the best in MMA! How can anyone say that when Lesnar hasn't fought everyone in MMA? Carwin is the toughest guy that Lesnar has fought and he hadn't really beaten anyone. Carwin is also the only top 10 (not in my opinion but most sites) fighter that Lesnar has faced. So now that he has strung together some victories over a few fighters outside the top 10, he is the best? Yeah, I don't think so....

Fedor has been fighting Cans that Dana wouldnt put in the ring with Brock for there own safety. Fedor is older, slower, and smaller than Brock even though he has an amazing skill set, talent, and history. I think Brock would steam roll Fedor with Fedors only chance to win coming in the first 25-30sec before Brock shoots. Once hes down its done.

Brock Beaten Randy, Frank(almost 2x dumb standup first fight), Herring, Carwin not exactly all cans. Hes got freakishly long big arms as well for someone 6'3. Brock IMO the current #1 HW.

My thoughts are Cain either lands a few good punches and is able to beat on brock but not hold him down, or brock just shoots and its over. Even Cains good wrestling might not be enough to keep that monster off him. Brock is going to win his next 4-6 fights I say before somebody KO's him.
