As a fellow lefty, I'd like to start by saying I feel your pain as far as equipment goes...

Alright - the avaliablility of lefty stuff relates to overall volume? What do I mean? The manufacturers who do high overall volume are more avaliable in retail stores for lefties -- Taylor Made, Callaway, Ping, Nike. That doesn't mean that other copanies don't make lefty stuff, but you have the easiest time buying stuff in a store for those companies.

Quality is quality. Mizuno is better than Taylor Made for irons and what have you. I would tell you, though, that when you get into anything more speciality or exotic or 'players', it's just hard to find lefty stuff in stores, it's hard to demo stuff. Living in New Jersey, it might be a little easier than NE Ohio (but not markedly so), but it's tough. In the Southeast where they have golf megastores it might be a little easier...I dunno.

This isn't encouraging at all, man. It sucks being a lefty, still. Luckily, in the age of the internet, you can GET anything that is made...but being able to demo it in a store first is often a little tricky.

I've heard that Mizuno has a poor reputation as far as releasing clubs in lefty versions.

Adams are terrible people as lefties are concerned. I have a horror story but not the time to type it at present.

I have definatly noticed that I almost get laughed at when I go to golf smith to try out clubs and dicks is very limited as well. So I guess what i am asking is does Callaway make a better lefty club then taylormade?

Not sure exactly what you are asking, but the short answer is No. Your Mizuno MX-23 irons are the same as the RH MX-23 irons. Your Cally FT-IZ driver is the same as the RH version. A club is the same club whether in RH or LH. Like, if the Callaway X-20 irons were the right set for you, then it doesn't matter that you are left handed.

And most of the big manufacturers are pretty good about putting out LH clubs. I have become partial to Ping, but I still have had excellent clubs from TM, Wilson, and Callaway.

Equipment:
Ping K15 Driver (10.5º) - Diamana BB R flex; Ping G15 4 Wood (TFC R flex); Ping G15 20* Hybrid (TFC R flex); Ping G15 23* and 27* Hybrids (AWT R flex steel); Ping G15 Irons 6-GW (AWT R flex steel); Ping I-Wedge 54* Wedge; CG14 BP 58* Wedge; Odyssey Black Series Tour Designs #9 Putter

Here on Long Island Dicks has a much larger selection of lefty clubs than Golfsmith. Golfsmith has a 1/4 aisle in the entire store with lefty woods with just the most recent TM, Callaway, and Ping drivers and small sampling of FW and hybrids. This compared to the 5 aisles and end caps they have for righties. Dicks has a lefty display for just about every major driver, wood and hybrid with much better selection.

Smithtown, there is a Golfsmith and Dicks less than a mile apart from each other.

I've been to that Golfsmith, it's probably the best one that I've been to. But I'm not a lefty so....

From my experience, Lefty selection at Dick's changes from store to store but is better than average overall. Of the 3 stores here that I've been two, one has a respectable selection, and the other two were OK. I've found Sports Authority to at best to have a handful of cheap wedges and putters, I don't know why I bother to keep going into there.

I agree, Sports Authority is very lefty unfriendly. The store near me has the following left hand clubs, 1 $20 putter, few Big Bertha 07 drivers and woods, 2 Cleveland wedges and a few 3 yr old Nike woods and hybrids. They carry only the FJ WeatherSof gloves for RH and always seem to be out of ML. I check ball and apparal prices there, but usually never buy anything.
