There has been a favorite golfer thread but what golfers do you just not like as a player, or in terms of their dimeanor, attitude on the course, swing etc.

for me there are a few..

1. would probably be Chad Campbell, is he trying to dig to China every swing? looks like a chinese pilsbury do boy, annoying southern accent and could he be anymore boring as a player/personality?

2. Rory Sabatini.. looks like one of the elves from lord of the rings, has no soul, the biggest douche bag on tour.

3. Stewart Cink, annoying southern accent, uses a belly putter, rivals Chad Campbell for most boring, plays with no emotion.

I was tempted to say Weir with that annoying Canadian accent But seriously don't you think we could approach this from a little higher ground than Elves, douche bags and accents.

1. Rory Sabbatini
The guy has an ego as big as ya like and always seems to be kicking off about something.

2. Ben Crane
How long to take a shot please!!!! theres taking ya time but it must take him 5 hours to do a round!!

3. Jim Furyk
Although I do like the guy I just hate the way he spits all the time very disgusting.

4. Phil Mickelson
He was once my favorite but after reading the 10 most hated athletes I just can't see him as anything but false at whatever he says or does..

Sabbatini - you already said it best, although you were a bit kind.

Lehman - Big putter and self-righteous overly religious attitude.

Wie - Hard to be down on her as she is so young, so I will blame the parents and her entourage for basically putting money and fame over winning and getting better.

Phil used to be on that list, as just watching lefties confuses me. But I actually gained some respect for him after the US Open.

Jack - Self-serving, narcassistic, media sycophant who can't pass the torch.

Camillo - Give me a break on the green reading and outfits.

Long John - Gets all kind of sympathy for, "all he has gone through". When will people realize he is the reason he has gone through so much crap?

Fuzzy - Racist good ol'boy redneck.

Frank Liklickliter - Another hillbilly.

Ian Poulter - Camo pants?

Charley Hoffman - The hair.

Other golf-related notables - Steve Duemeg, The Wie Entourage (they deserve a 2nd mention), Michael Bamberger, and Donald Trump.

Man, I never realized I was so full of hate!

^ good call on Ian Poulter, i forget what event it was when he wore those black pants with the silver sequens. He can stay on the Euro tour with those.

yeah eh? No really thread jacker since you're above all that, im still 22 so i do have some immaturity left in me, but Rory is a douche bag, and he does look like an elf.. and sorry those accents just scream 'i dont say much because im an idiot.'

let the hating continue..

I go easy on people if I can but Stephen Ames is my all time most disliked golfer. He seems like one of the cockiest, most self-absorbed people I've ever seen. Hopefully he's entirely different than the way he comes across in interviews.

I agree with you on Sabbatini. He's earned our dislike of him but Lehman? I'm not seeing the self-righteous thing. Confidence can easily be misunderstood for cockiness.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

i honestly don't dislike any of them, after all they are part of the great fraternity/sorority of golfers!

we know the agony they are going through, the ordeal, it's great that there are so many different types out there, a lot of flavors.

I've never even thought about disliking a golfer, cause when they play great golf it's inspiring. Remember Stephen Ames at TPC, that was awesome how he played, i wish i could play like that for one day. LOL

The way they are off the course i don't care about, that's their business. Golfers are cool, all the ones i meet while playing, almost never a bad apple, the bond of shared suffering i guess.

"Most Hated" is unfitting for our sport, eh!
"Golfers you dislike", now that's more like it.
I disliked the way Stephen Ames talked to the press after his win last year.
I disliked the pre-shot routine of Sergio a few years back. Yikes.
I dislike it when players don't attend the Tour Championship, unless injured.
I dislike it when players rush to the next tee when their opponent is still putting.
I really like John Daly, I don't care what the press keeps saying. He wants no sympathy, and he's great for the game. Sorry, I had to end this note with some love.

This has to be the lamest, cheesiest, and most pretentious post I've ever read. I want to believe that you were being sarcastic, but I fear that was not your intention.

Anyway, I think Phil Mickelson is a tool. He also has some serious man-boobs. I've heard through the grapevine that he is the most hated (or disliked for those sensitive readers) by other PGA professionals. I also agree that John Daly rules.

Ditto on Ames. I think Sabbatini is going to be at the top of a lot of people's list (mine included), but Ames is right there with him. Dude wins one tournament every decade and thinks he's Tiger.

Also not a big fan of Craig Stadler's tantrums. He could be shooting a 59 and if you didn't know better you would swear he was on pace for an 82.

Ben Crane - Come on already, hit the freak'in ball!!! Gotta be the slowest player I've ever seen. Even slower than Glen "All" Day.

Brett Quigley - For no other reason than he was a dick to my 10 year old son during practice round at the 2006 PGA Championship.

what did he do to your son?

He was going from green to tee through the ropes not signing autographs. My son stuck out his hat and said "Hey Brett, can I have an autograph?" Brett looked him in the eyes, rolled his eyes & said "Can't you see I'm not signing autographs right now?" in a tone that left no doubt he thought my son was an idiot for asking. Not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but even Tiger and Phil had the courtesy to just say "after the round" rather than purposely belittling someone. The guy next to us said in voice loud enough for Brett to hear "Don't worry kid, he's never won anything anyways!"

A well known sports magazine associates the word "most hated" with the 3rd ranked golfer in the world (Phil Mickelson) and im not aloud to start a thread on a website with those words in it? David Howell, people could limbo under that putting stance if it got any wider. Kirk Triplet, enough with the hats. Paul Casey, he looks like a gorilla, put him on the list for suspected of steroid use, doesnt like playing in the US. Good stay over there, no ones missing you. Quigley, never liked him.. learn to respect the fans who are the ones keeping your below average career alive. Bads or Baddely, that accent is almost as 'bad' as his outfits. Ames, i see the arrogance and calling course's "sh***y" in conference interviews is unacceptable. He acts like he's royalty but he's a fun player to watch when he lights it up. and Phil just needs to wipe that stupid smile off his face.

FIGJAM, aka Phil aka the Cheshire Cat. I'd love to see him at a funeral - I bet he'll still be smiling.

Adam Scott -- too darn pretty -- Hollywood is calling. Maybe Giorgio Armani will come out with a new golf apparel line...

Sabbatini - he acts like he owns the world. Yeah I get it, you've won a few times on tour. And, Jerry Springer called - he want's to book your wife for next week.

The Statue aka Retief Goosen -- the guy has no emotion, and is generally BORING to watch.

I dont blame him for not giving your son an autgraph at that time because he was trying to get in play mode, but he could have been tastefull about it. After all no fans = no money and no money = no tournament.

I don't have a problem with him not giving an autograph, that's his right and I respect it. It was a Tuesday practice round so it wasn't like he was asking in the middle of a tournament round. I just thought he was a bit of a jerk for stopping and saying that instead of just walking by.

I think Arnold Palmer said it best "The game made you and the fans paid you. The power and the money bestowed on athletes are a privilege and not a right. Act accordingly."

I take offense to the "annoying" southern accent comment. I'm sick and tired of southern people being assumed to be stupid or rednecks simply because of an accent. It's ridiculous and should have no bearing on someone's view of another golfer. I may think Bostonians and Canadians sound funny/different, but it's not on my list of reasons to dislike someone.
