Hey all,

was wondering if anyone could recommend a hybrid that they like. I only have a few mandatory specs:

i want it to feel hot off the face (NOT "dead" like the 909h)
i want it to look like a 909h, or burner rescue, not like an iron with a back end (NOT like G15 hybrid)
i want it to have mid launch

i was hoping to get it with ~20* of loft and stiff graphite shaft. Im looking for a club to fit my gap in between 18* wood(195 yds) and 21* iron(175 yds).

Thanks for all replies

Take a look at Tour Edge Exotic hybrids and fairwaywoods. Lots of reviews reporting very hot face.

Adams Super Black hybrid. It is the most trusted 210yd club in my bag.

Love my FT hybrids. On sale 25% off till midnight on the Callaway Preowned site. Part of their "Deals for Days" promotion. Every 2 days, they run different specials. "Like new" is brand new on that site. Got all my clubs there this time last year. Awesome place to shop. Just bought my dad a FT 4 hybrid for Xmas.

"Whatever is in my bag"

is all the responses you're gonna get. Not just saying this, but Adams really has the hybrid game on lock. Callaway would be my 2nd favorite of all the hybrids I've hit.

If you can still find them, check out the TM Raylors 19* and 22*. Most of them sold out this fall after being cut to $99in price.

Raylor is closer to a FW wood than an iron replacement in shaft length, so the 22* might hold some interest for you.

Focus, connect and follow through!

Ha ha...

Haha, exactly the point of my post.

I don't even love my hybrid (the shaft is going in the trash next week when my new one comes in) but the Idea Pro Black is just amazing when you really hit it.

I own and play Nickent, Cobra, Callaway, and Wilson Staff hybrids. The Wilson Staff FYbrid is the jewel of the bunch-neutral/open face, great V2 stock shaft, sets up like a 5 wood and swings like a 4 iron.

Hey all,

Like Max says, try the Fybrid. I tried out a bunch of hybrids, and even liked a few, but the only new one* I bought was the Fybrid. If you prefer fairway woods to hybrids, but want the control and workability of a hybrid (or long iron), check the Fybrid out. WS really hit it out of the park with that series.

* I also bought a well used Nickent because it has a new V2 shaft and multi-compound grip (yoink - that combo is going into my old 21* Spalding Eagle 5-wood).

The 909H feels dead? That's the one I was going to suggest trying.
I think pretty much all brands make a hybrid with a hot face.
Mizuno MP CLK, Ping i15, TaylorMade Raylor, TaylorMade Burner Superfast, TaylorMade Rescue, WS clubs, Cobra and the list goes on.
So that covers 1 and 2. For number 3, any club can have mid launch. Just find the right shaft for it...

I bought a used Nickent to try the shaft. Makes a nice loud sound when I hit it right. Ended up getting similar shaft for my driver.

I was looking into these. I like the idea of the more compact head, but I am yet to hear how it performs out of the fairway. (Not saying im always there :D ) I like the look of it, but haven't hit it yet.

Has anyone used one from the fairway, and would you reccommend it? It has been made pretty obvious that it is easy to hit out of the rough, but only a personal demo will sell me on this.

The 909H feels dead?

Yeah, I don't really know why either. I hit my friends 19* yesterday, and it is a nice piece, but it feels somewhat "clank-y" off of the face, and I prefer it to sound like a wood.
Sorta hard to explain... . . .. . .

Mizuno MP CLK is liquid hot. I demo'd every hybrid on the market(reasonably) and it was the best for me. Great feel off the face.
