I hit the new R11 this past Monday.  I have never picked up a driver and hit it dead center on the face before. (3 times in row)  This was a demo model.  I put one in the bag on Tuesday.  I have still too hit my own driver, I had a Decade grip put on it.   So I have not adjusted it at all yet.

I am giving it a whirl today in a Captain's Choice.   There is a lot of spring off the face.

I have a ruptured disc in my lower back, when I was using the demo it was acting up.  I was taking 1/2- 3/4 swings; nice and smooth and the ball was sailing out to the 250 yd mark.  Now I am a pretty big guy and have a swing speed of 103-105.

I picked up some Callaway Hot Bites for the Tee and some Pro V1's for the approach.  Gotta love Captain Choice's.

I just posted a review on the R-11.  I believe for me it will be a game changer.   Just the right shaft for me.  I am already planning my attack for my home course.  I miss hit it twice yesterday and still got it out to 250 yds plus.   The group playing in front of us, asked if it was my drive on the the first hole we played.  We had a shot at the green on a par 5.  (Captain's Choice, we played Birkdale and it was 179 to the flag after my drive of 290+ yds. Hole 13)    I missed the long drive on another hole.  I started the ball down the middle and between the ball drawing back and the wind blowing I was in the rough.  10 yards ahead of the long drive pin.

We ended up winning the tournament.  I am totally stoked about this club.

umm, quote me if I'm wrong but isn't it illegal to switch between balls during a hole?

quote me if I'm wrong

yes it is illegal

The schoolteacher was taking her first golfing lesson. "Is the word spelt p-u-t or p-u-t-t?" she asked the instructor. "P-u-t-t is correct," he replied. "Put means to place a thing where you want it. Putt means merely a vain attempt to do the same thing."

I have hit it quite a few times at Dick's...I liked it as well. I wasn't sold on the color at first, but I think it has grown on me.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I got to hit the new R11 yesterday and was very impressed by it. Felt so nice compared to my Nike and sounded a lot better....ball flight was perfect compared to the low ball flight of my Nike.

If I had the money it would be in my bag..... just way too expensive

I hit a couple of tests with this club absolutely loved it as you did. Great ball flight and distance was impressive. I was happy to see that a manufacturer is finally able to uphold the latest and greatest title they put on everyone of their new clubs.

Love this driver, havnt hit it on the course but did hit the driving range on base. I have a very high loft on all my shots and was easily clearing 240 in the air not sure how much roll it was getting or how far past the fence it was. O yea the Fence on the range is 240 out

What if you hit your last ball from your bag in the water? Do you go the proshop/clubhouse and buy a 3-pack of the same exact brand/model? This is confusing, because I'm sure I would end up with no balls in a bag if I was playing really bad, out of bounds, water, etc...

In My Burton Viper Stand Bag :

Eye Black Dot Irons 3-PW / R7 Quad 10.5 Degrees / Square Two Pilot 7 Wood 21 Degrees / Square Two Pilot 4 Hybrid 23 Degrees / XK Hale Irwin Series Blade SW 58 Degree / Rossa Lambeau 7 CGB Putter

We are talking pga tournament rules I think. Us amatures can switch balls during a hole unless its stated in the tournament rules when playing a tournament. I could be wrong

if you lose a ball in water or OOb etc then yeah you can, you can not hit a drive down the fairway or in the rough walk up to it and decide to change the ball...although I dont know the rules for the captains choise Bigjoe was playing, but you defo can not change balls during a hole.
