I use to hit my irons high and soft, but for some reason this season, everything has either had a low trajectory or an even lower trajectory (meaning thin shots or grounders). Everything has been on target, so im thinking its a ball position issue? I believe my swing bottom has moved forward (improved lag and weight shift), so could this be the reason? I should play the ball more forward? Thanks.

I could be a case of ball position or, as I am working on, maintaining knee flex and body postion all through the swing. I tend to straighten up as I come through the ball, causing me to hit the top half of the ball with little to no divot.

If I concentrate on my head position longer and my knee flex, I have no trouble. Try that.

Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated

More likely it's your upper center (head/shirt buttons) going forward too much in the downswing. Try setting up a little more consciously "behind the ball" and staying there through the stroke.

Stretch.

Not keeping my head down has been, and continues to be, the major source of my thin shots.

Comming out of your posture is probably caused by balance at set up, to much on your toes or heels and you loose alot of balance in the downswing which causes you to loose your posture.

A good drill is to stick a bag behind you, and make sure your left glut touches that bag in the follow through.

- Ball position too far forward - Weight too far back - Head moving forward or backward - Chicken wing - Trying to get under the ball A video would help more than any list of tips we can provide.
