That depends... Did you already buy them?

I never found blades to be that much tougher to hit than cavities, but you'll be giving up distance, height, and straightness. If you tend to slice, the lack of offset might hurt you slightly, and expect mishits to feel bad. The MP53s have some cavity, but are still better player's irons and you might want to stick with a more forgiving set unless your iron game is better than your handicap suggests. People make a bigger deal about the difference than need be, it won't make you unable to golf anymore, but it might cost a few strokes a round that forgiving irons would keep playable.

I'd say you might be better off with either buying just a few clubs, like the 8-PW, getting a slightly less tough set, or going used (perhaps an older set of blades as well). A set of MP53s isn't cheap at all.

If you can get a good deal, have infinite money, or can keep them in good shape to potentially resell them, it won't be a costly experiment. Just remember that you'll get no respect from anyone if you can't hit your shiny new irons, and it might be a lot of work to adapt to them. I'd say get the tour striker, then if it works well for you consider new clubs. MP53s aren't like a puppy or a marriage; they're a real commitment.

Exactly.
Do you know if Footjoys will fit my feet? Will a Nike shirt fit my body shape?

In other words, why would anyone know what clubs will suit you?

You have to try them.

If you can't try them and buy them anyway, you'll find out after you have hit them.

You really do need to stop asking questions that have no answer.

And, if possible, refrain from using the word "game" as a verb. It is a noun.

A guaranteed way to get people to roll their eyes and gag is to ask them what they "game" or tell them what you are "gaming".

Best to learn that early on.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

I agree with MiniBlueDragon and Shorty. We've never even seen your swing. Also, [insert seam_miller comment about the verb "to game" as it pertains to using golf clubs here]. ;-)

That's the nice thing about this forum.  People don't get banned just for being young and ignorant, or in my case old and ignorant.  He is only 12 or 13 so we give him a break.  Remember how excited you were when you got the golfing bug?  Now picture yourself as a teenager with the same excitement.

Who knows, in 10 years he might be a forum leader on here, if he has time between PGA tour events.

Not quite right, Domenic. It is your crassness and complete lack of with that is annoying.

You tried to maximise the number of pages in a previous silly thread by typing in 40 point (or whatever).

You are deliberatley clogging up the site with nonsense.

You have  a foul mouth.

You are becoming extremely cocky. You come across as seriously uncool.

You have completely ignored people who have spent a little time writing detailed replies to your requests.

The owner of the site has given you a public and very mild warning, but you ignored it.

My guess is that your days here are limited, so you might just mind your language and cut out the attitude.

We know you are only 13, but you are getting on some nerves here.

As we say in Australia, "Wake up to yourself".

Lesson one Domenic:  You don't need to use that kind of language towards someone just because you disagree with what they say.  If you want to earn respect on here you need to learn not to get angry.  You would be surprised how much support you would get if you posted in a polite manner.

You'll be let out of the penalty box on December 29, kiddo.

If you choose to behave in such a way that makes peope shun you, that is self-inflicted ostracism.

And...even after your suspension, you CONTINUE to be offensive.

You continue to post idiotic nonsense and you don't like it when people object.

In case you hadn't noticed, it isn't an "adults only" site and "children" are welcome. As long as they behave sincerely and sensibly and don't cause offence. Your peers might be amused by your  "I love you" comments in letters an inch high and your demands for information about how to make it on tour. Most people are not interested. Act your age.

Post something sensible and you'll get a fair response.

I think he is. 13 is a great age to be. And these days, without having to engage anyone face to face, it is all too easy to act foolishly, saying things and acting in ways that he would never do in "real" life.  Don't worry, Shorty.  Junior high school starts back up in a couple of days. Domenic will have more things to worry about (homework, girls, etc.) than this golf forum.

Okay, first off, I'd appreciate it if you didn't comment at all. My "peers" don't go on this sight. And if people are not interested, why do they comment. You say "its getting annoying" yet you still comment!?!?! Why even click my thread then?

    • I did read the fine print tonight. It said replace with “similar features & function”.  8 yeas ago my purchase had features that today are available on the lower end models and the current version of my model has more “bells & whistles” than what I got 8 years ago.  So I am thinking they honored the agreement and I can’t argue the offer. since getting a credit for the full purchase price all I am really out over the past 8 years was the cost of the extended warranty, which was less than a low end  treadmill would have cost me. now the question is which model to replace with.  I’ll stay with Nordic Track or I forfeit the $1,463 credit so I will get Nordic Track.  And they honored the warranty and were not hard to work with which is a plus.
    • Generally speaking, extended warranties are a terrible deal and should almost always be avoided. They are a huge profit center for the companies that offer them, which should tell you almost everything you need to know about how much value most consumers get when purchasing them.  This is correct, and the old adage applies - only buy insurance when you can't afford the loss. This usually doesn't apply to most consumer goods.  To your second question, no I don't believe the offer is fair. They are replacing it, but it is not being replaced at "no cost to you". Since the amount being disputed (over $500) is non-trivial, I would probably push the issue. Don't waste your time on the phone with a customer service agent or a supervisor. They have probably given you all they have the authority to do. Rather, I would look at the terms of your agreement and specifically legal disputes. The odds are you probably agreed to binding arbitration in the event of a dispute. The agreement will outline what steps need to be followed, but it will probably look something like this.  1. Mail the Nordic Track legal department outlining your dispute and indicate you are not satisfied with the resolution offered.  2. Open up a case with the AAA (American Arbitration Association), along with the required documentation. 3. Wait about 4-5 weeks for a case to be opened - at which point someone from Nordic Track's legal department will offer to give you the new model at no cost to you.  They certainly don't want to spend the time and energy to fight you over $500. 4. Enjoy your new Nordic Track at no cost to you. I recently entered binding arbitration against a fairly large and well known company that screwed me over and refused to make it right. In my demand letter, I made a pretty sizeable request that included compensation for my time and frustration. Once it hit their legal department, they cut me a check - no questions asked. It was far cheaper to settle with me than to send their legal team to defend them in the arbitration.
    • I never thought of looking at it on multiple purchases like you said.  Yes, the extended may help me on 1 or 2 items but not the other 5 or 6.
    • Day 84 - Forgot to post yesterday, but I did some more chipping/pitching.    Back/neck were feeling better today, so I did a much overdue Stack session.
