Bridgestone e6 gets my vote...

Re: Best Mid Price Ball?

Just ordered 2 dozen NXT Tours from Tincup (Eric). They seem the best for me. Not too much spin but still the feel of a better ball.

Good luck,
Ryan

Re: Best Mid Price Ball?

I voted that that the NXT Tour as the best mid-priced ball, but it really boils down to what you are looking to get out of your ball.

If you want distance, I would go with the HX Hot. If you want feel and spin, the NXT Tour is the ball. If you want a less expensive two-piece that combines distance and spin, the Big Bertha and Srixon AD333 are good options. I am still losing a lot of balls when I play, so I have been using the Big Bertha (can get logo overruns at Golfsmith for $15 a dozen). It goes a long way and has decent feel.

Re: Best Mid Price Ball?

I voted NXT tour but I am looking forward to trying the Maxfli Fire. I have heard good things about it. Has anyone else tried it?

Re: Best Mid Price Ball?

Haven't tried that one but must admit I'm a bit curious to see what its like. They are running a big TV campaign with John Daly featuring these in the UK at the moment. No doubt they'll shift a few boxes.

Re: Best Mid Price Ball?

In my entire life, I've had about 4 dozen Srixon Soft Feel. Out of htat list, I must say they were awesome. I got a ton of check on chip shots and pitch shots, and it came off the driver/woods pretty well. I really like that golf ball - HOWEVER, It's hard to find them anywhere around me. I noticed Golfsmith and Dicks and Sports Authority doesn't even carry them...their's "Jeff's Golf Shop" about 40 minutes from me but that's a hike everytime I want golf balls, you know?

yeah, I was using that ball today. I lost 3 of them [2 in the same lake], but it was a great ball.

Quoting 2007 Hot List: It's nicknamed the Pro-V1 lite for a reason. Save yourself a buck fifty and see if you miss it's older brother.

totally believe it. just a good ball that im not to worried about losing

Re: Best Mid Price Ball?

where is the Bridgestone E6????
it's better than the NXT Tour (feels softer and seems just as long)

For sure, BRIDGESTONE balls kick butt, i would recommend the e6 & e5 to anyone who was looking for a mid price range ball.

Have you considered a Top-Flite D2, i thought they would be crap but i played one today, i shot in the same range that i always do, plus there cheap.

Re: Best Mid Price Ball?

I voted for the NXT Tour because I do believe it's the best all around ball in this category. However, I'd say the Callaway HX Hot (not on the list), Srixon Soft Feel, Regular NXT, and Bridgestone e6 (not on list) are right there too.

Re: Best Mid Price Ball?

I play the Srixon soft feel and the Noodle long and soft. I usually grab a ball out of the bag at random and rarely can tell the difference. The Noodle feels a little hotter of the tee, the Srixon feels a little softer of the wedge, but the differences are barely noticeable.

Uh, what is? What ball are you talking about?

Re: Best Mid Price Ball?

I just got a dozen srixon soft feel. I am set with balls, but I lost my towel so I was going to get a new one, and there was a deal where if you buy a dozen of any srixon ball, you got a tour srixon towel free, so I got a towel and a dozen srixon soft feel for $20. I can't wait to try them out.

I'm pretty sure that he's alluding to the Titleist NXT-Tour's. Those are the best balls on the list that I've played, but they're most definitely a step below any tour ball in spin and feel.

Re: Best Mid Price Ball?

I would like to try those Bridgestones, I really liked the 330 model but seeing how those run nearly as much as the Pro V1 that is for another conversation.

I voted NXT Tour, as a pervious poster mentioned, they're nicknamed Pro V1 lite for a reason. I just picked up another doz today as a matter of fact. They're on sale at Austads for $21.99 (www.austads.com) $5.99 shipping if you don't have access to an Austads store. Still total of under $30 for a great ball.
