I always play better with people i have never played with before, especially if they have a lower handicap than me, i feel i need to play well as to not hold them up.if i am playing with someone i know im not under that pressure so dont seem to play as well. I play better in a competition because im under pressure but never as well in a practice round. Sometimes the weather influences me, if it has been bad for the previous few days then you play on a good day your on a bit of a high from the start.

what about you?

I always seem to play better after one-putting a hole. Granted it might sometimes come after a 7 or and 8...but one putt puts me in a good mood for the walk to the next tee box. It comes and goes fleetingly, but so do my good shots.

Not worrying about what I am doing. Relaxing and just having fun. When I start to spin out of shots and spraying them I have to remove the thought about getting super pissed and getting in my head. I know that I have to go back to my basics. Posture, hand and feet and follow through

Same with me. When I play by myself I think about my score way too much.

Playing with better players always helps me stay focused and usually brings out the best in me. Last week I went to the driving range and the course I went to was hosting a US Amatuer qualifier or something, there were players from all over the region competing in match play matches. While I was there a lot of the players were warming up and I was hitting with along with them, I found that I was more confident and more focused and ended up having a very good range session.

Even with friends who are better than I am it brings out the best in me to hang tight with them and maybe even win a skin or two.

When I play by myself I usually do much better. And the big one for me is how content I am with life at the moment. When things are going good, so is the golf game, if not, watch out.

I play better when I play with the guys that say they hit the ball 300yrds and shoot around par, they hardly drive past my 230 -240 yrd drives and never count all their penalties and still not shoot the scores I do. Makes me feel like a long ball hitter and a better player than I am.

I definitely play my best when I play with friends who are considerably better players than I am. Not only do they give me some tips, but I stay focused on my game, and having a good time with friends rather than rushing through my shots.

When I get off to a good start on each 9 things seem to get a little easier, a little more comfortable. A bad start just kills me, it might take the entire 9 to get on track. A score killer every time. I'm the guy that shoots 40 on the front and 50 on the back, or vice versa. Usually due to an early blow up on one of the 9's.

a 3 wood off the first tee and small wager on where I land it. If that don't work, double or nothing on the second tee.

Letting my buddies have the honor - after they brag about how far they hit the ball. And then I boom my drive 80 yards past theirs because they only hit it 180. It gets my confidence going and shatters theirs at the same time.

Ususally for me i can tell at the range during warm up. if i hit them real well then i usually shoot a high number and if i hit them bad then i do good on the course. weird? huh?

for me not worrying about my score and what I shoot, it can be hard, but over some time this season I am starting to not worry as much, hence helping me play alot better

I usually play good when I play good when I'm with my friends.

I score good when I putt good. The difference between a low & high score for me is usually all putting strokes.

I play good when I'm dressed my best, I guess it's just I feel more relaxed or something, but it's worked.
