I started with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which, believe it or not, started as an ultra violent RPG game (may have been graphic novels first) long before the pizza eating clowns on the cartoon show. I then graduated to D&D and AD&D. I also really enjoyed the game Rifts by Palladium. Awesome times, we would have 6-8 hour marathon sessions, heck I would spend hours just working on my character. One of my good buddies was an excellent DM/GM, he would write and create all his own stuff complete with maps and everything. I miss those days and even scrounged up an old AD&D Player's Manual in the hopes that my sons would play with me when they get older. Sadly I think that ship has sailed and by the time they are old enough to play they will just give me a blank stare when I try to explain that it's all done with dice and pencils....sigh.
