Names JanMarc I'm a 7 HC and i recently started toe hooking almost every single club in my bag.. It started out with the longer clubs 3w and Driver then started creeping into all of my irons.. This is a terrible time for my game to have a hiccup because my season starts in 2 months. Please someone help.

You possible have encroached you setup where your hands are slightly too close to your body near the point of impact during your swing. Try extending or reaching for the ball just a slight bit more than normal while working on this at the range. Also, have someone check your setup, either a teaching pro or a knowledgeable friend. Posting your swing also would give Eric and Mike and others to offer some insight.

Will post a face on view tomorrow and work on my address/posture as well.

Also these clubs are custom fitted Vrs Covert irons cut down .5 inch and re gripped. Did not have to bend because impact tape showed solid strikes.

Hi JanMarc. Just watched your vid and I see a preset wrist motion in your takeaway.

It appears you start the back swing by taking the club away with your hands and hinge both wrists immediately.

It is difficult to review the video in frame to frame (step by step) to pinpoint other actions during your swing.

Eric has posted suggestions for taking videos and posting them.

Better quality would enable viewing to clarify your swing along with taking the video closer to the subject.

Back to the subject of toe hooking.

My thoughts are, when a person swinging a club with their hands really close to their body causes that person to roll the wrist just before and through the impact because that player feels they have left the toe open and must do this to square the club.

Also with the wrist hinge set so quickly, it leads to a steep decent into the ball.

Are you stating you are toe hooking every shot? Or only with certain clubs? Has this been a new developing situation, recently?

Question? Are your divots deeper in the heel area of the club?

I can see a player who plays a draw, could or would maybe on rare occasion hit this type of shot.

But seldom hear about a player develop this as a habit or have it continue for days or weeks.

Are you toe hooking when hitting the ball placed on a tee, also?

Mike and Eric will hopefully add their insight and expertize.

Interesting situation.

    • I’m not sure I agree. It’s just what the majority find more entertaining. Most people prefer women’s gymnastics over men in the Olympics. How much hype is there with the men’s compared to the women’s? I bet you can rattle off several big names in women’s gymnastics and only a handful of men. Women’s tennis …same thing. And sure enough, their purses are the same. However, WNBA, awful…LPGA, not near as much interest than PGA. Don’t think it’s really that complicated IMO.

    • Hence your Avatar!😜 I drink a lot of water during the day if I’m playing or exercising. I get cramps otherwise.
    • If you walk up to a food/drink kiosk at Magic Kingdom and ask the person for a cup of "magic water" they will give you a small cup of Sprite for free. About 3 fingers worth. They don't sell alcohol at MK anymore so I go over to one of the courses while she hangs out there.
    • This isn't some kind of natural fact. It's a lot more complicated than this implies.
