Saw some other threads about the Super Stroke grips. I just put one (mid slim 2.0) on my Scotty Del Mar and love it!! I stuck with the Scotty "Baby-T" grip for a long time, but thought I'd give this one a whirl as it was time to regrip anyway. I am normally a good putter - what separates my good rounds from okay rounds. I average about 26-28 putts a round and hope this one will improve that :)! I am not sure I would go with one of those fatter ones... What I like mostly is the absence of taper. I was going to try the "pistol" one Scotty has, but the transition from top to bottom was to great. Felt good in the top hand, but like a #2 pencil in the lower and I got "snappy" when I tested one out. Since our greens were recently punched, I have yet to see it a whole lot on course, but my green at home is Augusta fast and it works great. I did take it to another courses practice green and did quite good on a ~10.5 speed green. Slower greens, not too sure about, but thankfully I don't play on many of those. So I would recommend trying one out! I would start with the smaller so it is not too drastic of a change. Plus, there are no screws, etc. that I read about.

The Super Stroke is one of the best putter grips available. I prefer the ultra slim version. I like that it has a consistent width and is close to round. However, I like the round grip on my Edel slightly better.

Funny I just put a mid slim 2.0 on my Ping center shaft & it's ok - doesn't really do anything for me though.     Doesn't bother me or anything, just seems meh ... everything considered, I think I prefer the tapered feel and texture of the Tigershark midsize

I got the 3.0 Super stroke. My putting has improved a bunch, cuz I now have my hands much more quiet.

I've had mine for over a year now, and I can say that it definitely has helped. Especially for 10-15 feet and in. As the putts get longer, no major difference since it is more of a speed test for those 30-40 footers. The LINE might be a bit better, but the distance control is a different head game.

I did the same but it took me a few months to get used to them.  It seemed to really hurt me on longer lag putts but now that I have gotten used to them my putting has gotten better.

  • 2 weeks later...

I've been using a 3.0 on my Scotty Del Mar for about a year. I liked the new black/red/white grip, so I just ordered it. Well, I didn't realize that I ordered a 2.0 by mistake. I decided to keep it and not return it. I waited until my important league matches were over and had it put on yesterday. Although, they say that it's not much difference between the 3.0 and the 2.0, I personally like the bigger 3.0. I'm going to finish the season with the 2.0 and see how it goes. I personally like the fatter grip as it has helped me quiet my hands quite a bit.

Cheers,
Rick Menary

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
