State here your individual golf Stats (if you track them) and your handicap. Hopefully with enough entries it will give an indication of things to work on.

Here are mine

Driving Distance - 250
Driving Accuracy - 51%
Greens in Reg - 67%
Putts per Round - 31.8
Putts per GIR - 1.95
Birdies per round - 2.3
Pars per round - 10.9
Bogeys per round - 3.6

Handicap - 2.0

My stats in the above terms

Driving Distance - 236 Driving Accuracy - 82% (see note 1) GIR's - 55% Putts per Round - 33.8 (see note 2) Puts Per GIR - 2.0 Pars/round - 9.2 Birdies or better/round - 1.5 Bogeys or Worse - 7.3 Handicap - 5.6 Note 1 - I play some relatively tight courses that do not have very penal rough. For me a drive in the rough that is quite playable is "a fairway". A missed fairway would be a problem lie in the rough, bunker, behind a tree, or any crummy drive that leaves me 3 or more clubs into the green "than I should be hitting". Note 2 - I play on courses with closely mowed fringes. A ball a couple feet off the green that leaves something that basically looks like a putt, is a putt (and is a GIR). This will raise your GIR number and your number of putts Note a related posting on stats that I will be putting out shortly. dave

how is your handicap 10 with 68% GIR over 50% and 280 into fairways and only 29 putts per round? you must have one or 2 blow up holes per round. if so, you could get rid of those and youd be shooting in the mid to low single digit handicaps.

He could be playing on a course(s) with low slope and rating.

Is there a website anywhere that shows how your own stats stack up with average players of the same handicap?

Driving Distance - 280
Driving Accuracy - 40%
GIR's - 45%
Putts per Round - 38
Puts Per GIR - 2
Pars/round - 5
Birdies or better/round - 2.5
Bogeys or Worse - 10.5
Handicap - 12.6

(Slopes of the courses are 137 and 143. I am notoriously bad with blowup holes, though. I had a 21 this year, two 16's, a 15, three or four 14's...)

I have never played very well untill this year (never thought much about the shot I was gonna take, and I had a terrible swing. Then I changed coach and I started thinking about what I was gonna do on the course). I started the year with 20 handicap, you know... I think, I had a very nice evolution last year. Plus, in the last 5 games I shot in the 70's 3 times (75 and 77 on a par71 and a 77 on a par 72) with the other two games being in the low 80's (81 and 80 on a par 72). If I can keep the way I've been playing lately, I will surelly have a handicap near 6 by the end of the year. I'm still hoping to finish this year near 4 handicap, but a 6 would be terrific.

In the beggining of Dec.,my coach said that I could have a pretty good chance of winning the club championship, if I put my head to it. I was T-4 with a very poor first round (+12 on a par 72), and then shoot the 77 written above. Since then, I've been winning every tournament I've been in (last championship, I won by 11 strokes, with those 75 and 77 on the par 71) I hope this takes your doubts of your head (ok, I'm not a native speaker... sorry...)

When do you guy's come up with your stats, during or after the round? I have never kept close track of these stats but I would like to. I just don't want to think about it to much during my round.

Man, that's way too much information. I don't even want to know that much about my game. I usually know how many putts I have without thinking about it much. On the full shots, I also know how well I struck the ball, where I cost myself shots and why without any thought. I guess I could calculate this and put it on a Blog somewhere.

just entered stats based on the two rounds I played this year, so bellow only reflects two rounds...

Driving Accuracy - 58%
Greens in Reg - 28%
Putts per Round - 30
Putts per GIR - 1.82
Birdies or better per round - 1.5
Pars per round - 8
Bogeys per round - 7.5
other per round - 1

Handicap 10.0 - been keeping this for almost two years (about 90 rounds)

I'm obsessed with my golf stats too and its not a bad thing... It shows you where you need to improve...

Total Eagles: 20
Holes Per Eagle: 65
birdies per round: 4.00
pars per round: 11.00
bogeys or worse: 3.00
Low Round of '07: 63 on a par 71
All Time Low Round: 62 on a 7,104 yard par 72... when I was 17... but that was four years ago
Handicap: +2.8 according to the USGA... but I say 0.0... It don't matter I don't play in tournaments I have to give strokes back in
