I've lost so much distance on my shots that when I hit an errant one, I yell "three!"

Our practice greens have been closed this whole covid time. Makes putting on the first few holes a guessing game. Where/how do you practice your putting?

My buddy and I played last week at an old haunt that has new carts. The new carts have GPS with a touch screen, blue tooth speakers, but no USB port to charge my phone. We were paired with a twosome, the younger of the two looked early 20's, and was clearly a scratch golfer. Despite little warmup, I played well, had several drives in the 240 range (average around 220), a string of 4 pars, followed by a bird, had made a change to how I grip the putter, and shot an 84, which included a bonehead triple on the 10th. I think I was inspired by playing with someone so good. My buddy drove the cart. There are 'no cart' zones, like the parking lot, tees, being too close to the green, and various spots behind the greens or in the weeds. This is where the cart just stops, and will ONLY go slowly backwards until you are out of the forbidden zone. He was not playing well, and did not have many GIR's, if any. Cart trouble on every hole. 5th hole, he knocks it over the elevated green, into a small valley between our green and the 17th. Takes the cart there, and now he's stuck, and can't figure out how to get going again. Trying to back up a small hill to a maintenance road, he looked like someone trying to back their new boat into the lake, only to jackknife the trailer over and over again. Funny to watch, but I a little embarassed by the whole thing. I don't think the other twosome was too happy either. By the time he made it back, the 4-some behind us was on the our tee, where we hadn't teed off yet. We swapped the clubs on the cart after that, and I drove for the rest of the day.

Here's how this could work: Playing the Masters, you got a spotter at every green. He messages your caddie (a series of claps or yells "mashed potatoes", or maybe just sends a text) to signal what has been happening all day at that green, such as, everybody is missing right. Or is this already happening? Is this allowed?

Yes, I remember there never was a full speed swing. La Costa also has the Phat Scooter, and as a motorcycle rider, I was more interested in that. 😊

I snapped the head off the Martini tee last round. Cold weather? I guess it's back to wood for now.

Played on Monday, first sunny day after a weekend of rain. Perfect weather, 65-70 degrees. I recently cleaned up a mold problem at my house that might have been affecting me for the last two years. This was the first pain free round in a long time, and I actually felt stronger physically. Mold is bad for you. Also, this was my first time ever playing Cart Path Only. It was funny searching for our balls in the fairway, sometimes hidden under a leaf, or camouflaged with mud or goose poop. Lucky for me, most of my tee shots landed near the cart path. I hit many solid shots that made me happy, but struggled with putting on inconsistent greens as they started to dry. We got paired with 2 life long friends from the east coast (we're 2 life long friends from the west coast) that made for a very fun day overall. Even ate a hot dog at the turn!

When I was young, I walked because I was cheap. Now that I'm old, I ride because I'm lazy. When sharing a cart, I like to walk to the green, or when looking for a ball that missed the fairway, or to my ball when the cart is at my partner's ball.

I been using the same Martini tee for about 3 years. Doesn't go into hard ground very well, just bends, so I have a wood backup. The Zero Friction tees are good, so good in fact, they seem to fall out of my pocket and are lost every time I try to use one.
