How do you get your swing working again once you know you are swinging bad during a round? I've improved to 85-90 bogey golf over the years which has been a huge improvement. However, I noticed that during some rounds I would shoot 100-110 due to a bad swing.

I feel like I know what I'm doing wrong because it's always the same results.

When i play well, my timing and sequence is correct, backswing with body first, but when I'm swinging back, it's always because I'm bringing my hands back and up first and not rotating. The ball flight is always a low slice on all my clubs because I hit / hack at the ball and not swing completely through.

I know this and I try to force to swing through but keep using hands more. How do you actually stop this and reset and go back to the "correct" swing that works?

What you’re doing isn’t a habit yet. Keep practicing until it is.

Bad passes are common.  There is no such thing as a golfer who does not regret a swing, or two, during the course of a round.  The thing to keep in mind is that none of us play a poor shot on purpose.  Pay no attention to the bad ones and think, instead, of what was right about the good ones.

If I start making poor contact it's usually because I'm hitting at the ball due to rushing. I'll stand back and just swing the club back and forth to feel the rhythm and tempo of the club head moving a few times again to get relaxed and, then step into the shot and take it with that tempo. Usual result is a decent shot. If it's bollocks, oh well... next shot.

Also if you made 5 decent shots then made one bad one, do you think about the bad one or the 5 decent ones you made before that? Think about those 5 good ones. Everyone makes bad shots. Even Tiger.

When my swing decides to head home early during a round, I try to focus on just one swing key. I tend to just lift the arms and forget to rotate the shoulders which can result in a variety of ugly shots. So when that happens, I try to focus on rotating the shoulder. That seems to help me with tempo as well as ball contact which seem to allow me to put a decent hit on the ball and survive the round.  I found one key is all I can reasonably focus on and still hit a golf ball.

Yes to this...Also I find it helps to make a few practice low shallow baseball-type swings to feel inside out and the work of my hips and legs. Best, -Marv

Yep, same here. I have to focus on two key things to get back in the groove. One is just absolute focus on the ball through the swing. Nearly 20 years of professional training to have a constantly roving eye taking in ever detail plays havoc with focus during a swing. Sometimes I can just "feel" my brain lock in on the ball and that is ALWAYS an amazing strike. The other is as RWC said, starting the motion with my shoulders and not my arms/hands. As long as I initiate my swing by dropping my forward shoulder it usually comes out ok.
