Same here. But, I think Freddie's style will be similar to Jack's. Today on the Jim Rome show he was saying he would be laid back and let the guys do their own thing. I think that was the reason for Jack's success (that and pairing guys with good chemistry). Micro-managing the players hasn't seemed to work very well in the Ryder Cup...

wow 2 of my favourite golfers - well I did grow up watching these guys rule the fairways!

It's a shame to see Jack and Gary stepping down - it was very competitive (remember South Africa!) but they had to eventually. Maybe they were waiting for suitable replacements - these guys are excellent choices.

And if Freddy can do the job on the Presidents Cup, I can see him being a formidible opponant for the Europeans in future years too!

yes - making him an ideal choice as vice/co-captain. I was referring to both teams.

You'd think Ian Baker-Finch would be a possible choice for Norman but I think IBF was an assistant to Gary Player so Norman may elect to go with someone else.

Also, if Davis Love III doesn't qualify to play I'd imagine he'd be the choice as Freddie's top assistant. Geez... I must be starting to get a little older. Norman, Love, Couples... these are all guys I've watched play growing up!

I think Freddie will be a riot as the Captain... he always finds a way to say the oddest thing so he will make the Press corps very happy.
American players love him so he fits... may cost him a chance as Ryder Cup captain though..

I love the idea of Freddy and Greg being captains.

I hate the idea that they are old enough to be captains. It means that I am getting old!

They are both class acts and are great ambassadors to golf. A friend of mine just met Greg Norman this week in a business setting and just raved about how nice he was to work with. He had good things to say about Chrissy too.
