I'm somewhat disappointed to see Jack won't be doing it again. He gets the U.S. team to win.

If the U.S. loses again this year, despite their new and improved points system, then maybe Jack will captain the 2010 Ryder Cup team

Same here. But, I think Freddie's style will be similar to Jack's. Today on the Jim Rome show he was saying he would be laid back and let the guys do their own thing. I think that was the reason for Jack's success (that and pairing guys with good chemistry). Micro-managing the players hasn't seemed to work very well in the Ryder Cup...

wow 2 of my favourite golfers - well I did grow up watching these guys rule the fairways!

It's a shame to see Jack and Gary stepping down - it was very competitive (remember South Africa!) but they had to eventually. Maybe they were waiting for suitable replacements - these guys are excellent choices.

And if Freddy can do the job on the Presidents Cup, I can see him being a formidible opponant for the Europeans in future years too!

Bring it on USA!

You'd think Ian Baker-Finch would be a possible choice for Norman but I think IBF was an assistant to Gary Player so Norman may elect to go with someone else.

Also, if Davis Love III doesn't qualify to play I'd imagine he'd be the choice as Freddie's top assistant. Geez... I must be starting to get a little older. Norman, Love, Couples... these are all guys I've watched play growing up!

I think Freddie will be a riot as the Captain... he always finds a way to say the oddest thing so he will make the Press corps very happy.
American players love him so he fits... may cost him a chance as Ryder Cup captain though..

I love the idea of Freddy and Greg being captains.

I hate the idea that they are old enough to be captains. It means that I am getting old!

They are both class acts and are great ambassadors to golf. A friend of mine just met Greg Norman this week in a business setting and just raved about how nice he was to work with. He had good things to say about Chrissy too.

      Day 148: 5/23/24 Hit balls on the range measuring ball speed for each club. Recently watched a fitting video where the fitter said he targeted 5 mph ball speed increase for each club.  Mine weren’t quite there. 4 and 5 mph were pretty similar except for 1 ball. Big jump for hybrid, bigger jump for 4-hybrid, and huge change for driver. Swung for the fences with driver and hit them all pretty straight at the end of my session. Several at 111 mph, which is above my normal speed. Finished with chipping release 1 with several clubs.  Good session!

      Day 70. Played 9 at Grand Niagara. Very very windy day, but I hit the ball well for me. The wind did help me hit my longest drive ever at 282y and I did make a birdie on a par 5.

      So, the struggle right now with the driver is that I’m dipping down with the body, shallowing wrongly.  When I try to get my arms down, I end up not turning much at all. End up hitting the sweeping overdraws or if I dip with the body then I’ll hit massive pushes. I’m trying to turn better with the body and also get the arms down at the same time. Easier with the irons than it does the driver. also, here’s an image when you almost entirely missed the ball. 🤣🤣🤣
