Good Afternoon Everyone! I am in the market for an outdoor practice driving net and i am looking for some recommendations. I have been doing some basic online research and would like to hear some pros and cons of what you are using. Thanks for all the help and have a great weekend.

This is what I have, a  Rukket 10x7ft net.    here.   I like it.  It's easy to set up, works great and is durable.   Mine is 3 years old and like new.

I just saw from my order from Amazon that it has a lifetime warranty!

I second the Rukket net recommendation. I’ve been using one for about 6 months now and it’s holding up very well.

I haven’t had to take it down yet, but assembly was very simple and I imagine disassembly would take no more than 5 minutes.

I hit off a tiny mat (also rukket). The mat is okay, but I can see the turf fibers starting to get torn up so I’m looking to upgrade to a full size higher quality mat soon.

I have that Rukket net also. It took about 1 year to blow a hole through it hitting about 100 balls per day on average into it. 4 iron right into my garage door. In retrospect, I should have inspected the net at some point before that happened. I contacted them and they sent me a brand new net without question. I hung a trimmed piece of the original net in front of the new net so it lasts longer this time.

Great idea.   Thanks for the suggestion.  It's nice to know they stand behind their product.

I also have this net and I like it a lot. It's very easy to set up and break down once you get the hang of it. I ripped the bottom of mine from setting it up on concrete all the time and it still works fine.

Well I've officially blown threw the front net piece. Good thing is the main net looks good so the whole double net thing is definitely working...

Regarding Rukket - their netting gets beat up pretty fast, and eventually will break. I can easily wear a hole in mine after 1-2 months. Previously they offered a lifetime warranty so they would send out new netting essentially no questions asked. However, their warranty policy changed, and the frame is now guaranteed for life, but the netting is not. I think the netting is 6 months now.

So just make sure to hit enough balls to get a hole in the net after 6 months, or do what I do - hang a target cloth over the face of the net to prevent the fibers from fraying/breaking when catching the balls. Eventually the synthetic fabric starts to deteriorate from weather/UV exposure, but I've gotten over 6 months out of my latest net so far doing this, but it is in dire need of replacement now.

Just put a second hole in my pre-net and the main net is still going strong with no signs of wear.

    • Day 8: 12/17/2024 Okay I took my new PPJ swing thought to the range today. I wasn't sure I was quite ready to do so, but I'm glad I did.  When I got it right it was good... really good. When I got it wrong it was a major fail. I hit lots of really ugly ones. But I didn't let that deter me. I stayed committed and focused on the PPJ and I avoided any temptation to go back to what I was doing before just so that I could "look" better at the range. I'm pretty excited about what I saw when I got it right.  I hit the 6 iron mostly (nearly all block work today). I also hit about 6 balls each with the PW, 8I, 5W and Driver. Those had varying degrees of success. I did crack one drive that let me feel and see what the changes will look like once I get fully trained.  Anyway, I'm going to go back to the mirror work for a couple of more days before bringing it back to the range. I do feel like if I can get this right my swing will improve a lot. So I think its worth the effort. I liked the way it looked on GEARs when I get it right, and I like the results I got at the range when I got it right. Now the goal is to work towards getting it right more often.
    • So I think it's that they can't just bend the shaft or hosel to get it to a new lie angle. They adjust that and it changes the weighting, so they have to then adjust all the weights to get it balanced again. I get the impression that it's a bit of an iterative process and they do it all in the US, so they're paying US labor costs to build it and make it work how it's supposed to. Whether you believe in the tech or not, I think that's a true statement.
    • Ah, the old EE in the backswing move. Chest going back and staying down doesn't help.
    • Extremely outward path with a very closed club face. Maybe unless you have a stupidly weak grip, like right hand way over top, I don't think the grip is necessary highly correlated to this.
