Any golfers you feel will fair well on this course this week? 1 and 2 won't be there and it looks like Luke Donald and few others won't show, but overall the field looks strong. Any players you have in mind who might have a chance of winning this?

I'm curious to see if the Jones kid has a chance of making his 7th straight cut. He has a nice game and like Johnny Miller says he has a great looking swing.

I also am hoping Ernie can follow up a win with another strong performance. And of course would like to see Hunter Mahan do very well.

Shin, you took the words right out of my mouth. I struggled in picking my team in the Fantasy picks because Ryuji is on Els' line. Ryuji has played a lot of golf in this area of Florida and should do really well. Even though I have to go with Els in my picks, Ryuji is my dark horse.

Calc is a good pick as he won last year and played well last week. But in general I like to pick the guys who are playing well right now versus guys with a great tournament history. Don't get me wrong I'll look at that but I like taking guys who are playing well. With that said, I like guys like Els, Stuart Appleby, Steve Stricker, Stewart Cink and Paul Casey. A few guys I like this week who have a pretty good track records here; Jonathan Byrd (doesn't it seem like he plays well every other week?), Chad Campbell, Joe Durant, Charles Howell and maybe an outside shot to Rod Pampling and Heath Slocum. I wonder why KJ Choi is skipping it? He tears this place up!

Yeah I am behind Calc also.

WGC and Palmer coming up. He has to get ready.

Especially for the Palmer. If he wins that, he's got all 3 living legends' trophies at once. It's like a grand slam, only not.

Cink's scores in match play were pretty good. Didn't he go out in 29 for one round?

I think Ernie Els should do well this week at the PODS. Even though the tournament has yet to start I think Els chances of playing well (and perhaps winning) will have increased as a result of the boost in confidence from his win at PGA National last week. Since the course is being touted as difficult it should favor players like Els.

Other golfers I think will do well include:
Robert Allenby (he jumped up to contend for a while at Riviera and PGA National)
Stuart Appleby
Steve Elkington

Golfers I'd like to see do well, but may not do much this week:
Fred Couples (with his questionable back and lack of practice/play recently)
Retief Goosen (appears to not have recovered completely from his eye surgery)
Trevor Immelman (he may not be back to form yet after his tumor removal in December)
Davis Love III (may still be rusty from the down time from his ankle injury)
Charles Howell III
Geoff Ogilvy
Justin Rose

Ryuji Imada played well enough to get into the upcoming WGC. I'm very glad I had him for both my fantasy teams. He certainly got more FedEx Cup points than Ernie Els did this week! I'm surprised no one predicted than Sean O'Hair would play slowly. I heard he was put on the clock at 15? I'm not certain, as I was watching at the gym at the time. Wasn't he put on the clock at the PLAYERS last year? Does this happen frequently to tour players, or is it just him? I guess slow play works for him, maybe. But just think of what a great playoff a 2-stroke delay penalty would've created!

Wow, that was an exciting finish... waiting breathlessly to see who was going to three-putt, hit a tree, find water, or miss a short putt, maybe get the lead and then throw it away, or leave a chip 20 feet short. These guys are "pretty good".

If Tiger had played he'd have won by 10-12 shots, stress free.

    • Day 7: got out my chipping net and worked on chipping in the living room for a solid 15 minutes. Worked on mostly low shots, but mixed in a couple of high shots as well.
    • Day 228 4-4 More hip/chest turn and wrist arching. Working on hinging wrist a bit later. Foam balls.
    • Day 27 (4 Apr 26) - Worked with grandson on basic pitches/punches in the back yard with varied irons/wedges.  Wrapped up the day rolling some putts on the 30’ carpet I can set up in the yard to give varied terrain - and this carpet rolls almost too easy. A great way to figure a read and know that pace has to be near perfect to get in the hole.
    • A bit of a struggle today.  Just some thoughts/musings.  For the backswing, it is like I am never going to be moving on from this. I don't know if I can ever get to the point where the backswing isn't like over 1.5 seconds in duration. Which is probably not ideal. I would like to get to the point where I can just fling the arms back and up.  I have to feel like my hands are going to hit my right thigh from P1 to P2. If not then they like to move 2-5 inches towards the ball from P1 to P2. Then it's just bad from there. This feeling is my hands not gaining much depth, just maintaining depth from set up. From the DTL view, the hands head towards the camera.  While I am doing that, hinge the crap out of the club with my wrist only. Hinge in a way that the club is pointing at the camera at P2.  From P2, lift the hands straight up. I can get here, and still roll the club inside and get it way too shallow.  With the downswing. There isn't much here. I still can't get the flow of this or the sequencing of this to line up. It doesn't help that hinging from P1 to P2 just throws off my entire timing as well.
    • Day 550 - 2026-04-04 Practiced in the sim at a club for awhile. Did a SW ladder and practiced for awhile with my 7I.
