Shaft Differences?

I broke my 8 iron Shaft recently it was a true temper xp90 r300 8, I was searching online for a replacement but couldn't find a match, so I bought a xp95 r300 Shaft, does anybody know if their will be a noticeable difference in them? Thanks

I guess so lol I would cancel the order however if someone knew if it did make a big difference or not.

I few grams of weight in the shaft won't make any real difference. Also as I haven't heard of the XP90 shaft, I am guessing it may actually be an XP95 that the club OEM requested changing the name on even though its the same shaft.

I think the xp 90 was on vokey and ap1 from 2018. Not available to buy separately.

yeah its of my ap1 irons, couldn't find a replacement anywhere, so ordered the xp95 attempting re griping and re shafting in the next few days.

You could also check global golf for single iron ap1 with same shaft and flex.

Both shafts are mid-spin and mid-high launch, XP90 in R300 is 95g, XP95 in R300 is 98g. Torque numbers for both are the same. Unless they different balance/flex/bend points, I doubt you would feel a 3g difference, I know I couldn't. I also believe that the XP90 is now discontinued.

This was a stock shaft for Titleist AP1 in the 716 series. I found it too light for me. The XP95 is a bit stiffer obviously. I had those for a while @michaelmcla.

This totally sounds like a weight sorting difference between the two shafts, since someone mentioned a 3g difference between the two. Just like TT weight sorts out the DG shafts into 200, 300, and 400, when the shafts fall outside of the 2 gram tolerance, that is what is happening here. Shafts falling outside of tolerances, get put into a new category and sold as xp90. Just guessing but makes sense from what I know and what has been said here in the thread.

FWIW, I liked the XP95 shafts better.

I wrote to True Temper some years ago regrading the same issue and they told me it was basically the same shaft.
