Finally!

Man, a box of new golf clubs on a porch gives me severe anxiety (I live in an area with tons of package theft).

Boxes on the porch give me anxiety, too, but we haven't had a problem with porch pirates around here, that I know of.  Besides: Our house, in particular, is 100 feet off the road, the porch is in clear view from not less than five neighbors' homes, and I've two clearly visible surveillance cameras covering the approach and porch.  So probably not an issue ;)

My home is up on a hillside where everyone can see packages on my front steps.  So I instruct UPS, FedEx and USPS to leave packages on my side patio, out of sight.

But if it's golf clubs, I'll usually go out and find the truck and ask for my package prior to them arriving at my house.  I'm sure they love that.  Actually, one time, I found the UPS truck, a mile away (you can follow the truck's progress online, like with Uber) and requested my new Epic Flash driver.  Andrew was driving, my favorite watering hole bartender!  It was a reunion.

And I was at the range with the new driver about 4 hours early.

I usually have golf clubs sent to the FedEx or UPS pickup location, or just sent directly to the fitter. I've never had a package stolen, but it is not uncommon in my neighborhood, even with all the home security cameras that houses have now.

I'm fortunate to live at the end of a dead end, so there is no straight through getaway path for porch pirates, which I think makes my block less afflicted.

Nice looking clubs @Lugowskins! Glad they made it to you safely.

I get that, it made me a little nervous thinking about it just because of how much I spent and how long I waited but honestly I am in such a remote area and have good neighbors the chances of something getting snatched are pretty low.

    • the rules have changed, but this would fall under 11.2 in the current rules.  General Penalty to any player who deliberately deflects a ball in motion, and you must replay the putt.
    • Day 250 4-29 Getting chest through with speed on downswing and wrist arch. Also worked on some moving the pelvis slightly away in the backswing. Feel like im going too fast and long, looks like it on the recordings too.
    • Interesting that it's no penalty, but then again, I can't imagine someone would purposefully put their foot out there in this situation or one like it.  And then there was the time someone purposefully deflected his own ball during a major, but that's very different too. The only time I can recall a ball I hit hitting another player or their equipment was ages ago -- over a decade and a half ago.  I had a 3' putt for an 89 and someone (a random pairing, not someone I knew) decided it was a good time for goaltending practice.  That wouldn't fall under this rule, though (and it wasn't in a tournament anyway). Thanks for continuing to share these, Dave!  I always find these interesting.
    • Day 51 (29 Apr 26) - Worked with a few of the golf team kids plus my grandson (he’s too young for the team as it’s middle-high school age and he’ll be 10 Sat).  He put on a small hitting clinic (hitting off the same tees as the rest of the boys) - one of the older kids called him a “coach”.  Worked in a few shots for myself - had the light bag: driver, 7w, 4 - 6 - 8 - Pw - Sw (DCI 962’s except the Sw a 981) and Zebra putter….got in some great tee shots, a couple of recovery and an awesome up and down for bogie: 55 yds out, hitting 4th shot due to 2nd getting tangled in limbs - see the window I need to hit for a tight spinner with the Sw - nail it to a postage letter distance from the cup for a tap in bogie….my kind of practice.
    • Day 21, April 29.  Before going to work this morning, I worked in my indoor practice room for 20 minutes.   This was entirely 6-iron shots with the usual step.  Video yesterday showed me that I'm still straightening my trail leg too much (leading to the backswing length issue I've been working to fix), so I focused on not doing that in my rehearsal swings.
