The NHL will once again be broadcast on ESPN after the league agreed to a seven-year multiplatform deal.

I don’t know how I feel about this. NBC has done a great job with the NHL over the last decade and a half and from what I remember, the NHL was a bit of an afterthought the last time ESPN held the broadcast rights.

It's good for the NHL to be on the worldwide leader in sports, full stop. They can put some plays in their Top 10, talk about it even jokingly, show goofs/gaffes, whatever.

It'll keep hockey more in the minds of sports fans.

See and the way I always remember it (could be misremembering)  is that the NHL became an afterthought after one of their lockouts that involved them leaving ESPN for the "Versus" network.  They've worked their way back somewhat it seems, but I agree with Erik - getting back on ESPN is a good thing.

    • Tale of two swings.  Swing 1: Slightly outside takeaway (hands move outside of target line) only to allow trail elbow over collapsing at P4. Doesn't take much to overdo it for the trail elbow collapse to only further exaggerate. That's death. Swing 2: Hands stay slight in at takeaway for a much better trail elbow condition at P4. This is a hard sell from an instinct perspective. More focus on un-weighting and re-weighting of lead foot to unlock a bit more mobility of hips and torso. A major flaw that creeps up often is me swinging flat footed and becoming overly armsy-collapsy as a result. Got reminded of this the hard way during my 2nd round match for club net championship. Was cruising along 2up until I made the turn. Then lost the swing for next five holes. Andy was playing good enough to capitalize. By the time I regained my swing on 16th, it was too late. Even Andy was like "That was a gift". Obviously that stings because have played well enough lately. Should have closed him out of the game comfortably with a few holes to spare. Shoulda woulda coulda. Tough lesson. Damn. P.S. I know the swings look very similar but trust me there is a difference.
