I am an Orthopedic Sales rep. I work with Surgeons in the operating who use our implants for total joint (knee, hip, should, elbow) replacement as well as plates, screws, nails, etc for fractures.  I am on call nearly "all" the time, but still enough gaps to get in some golf/range time when the wifey and kids allow me too.

I'm the vice president of sales and marketing at a mid-sized commodities firm. That's what my business card says. In reality, I'm a meat salesman with the family business. I earn six figures if you count the numbers to the right of the decimal point. Love my job. My background: Former Navy, former Army National Guard, former print journalist, former motorcyclist, current blogger, avid bicyclist, runner and beginning golfer. In my golf bag: a bunch of hand-me-down clubs, which I cherish because they're my first.

Former Marine, current family man and student in grad school for Civil Engineering with a focus in Geotechnical & Hydraulics. I split my time between research, family, golf, and looking for jobs while contemplating dropping it all for a commission as an officer back in the corp.

    • the rules have changed, but this would fall under 11.2 in the current rules.  General Penalty to any player who deliberately deflects a ball in motion, and you must replay the putt.
    • Day 250 4-29 Getting chest through with speed on downswing and wrist arch. Also worked on some moving the pelvis slightly away in the backswing. Feel like im going too fast and long, looks like it on the recordings too.
    • Interesting that it's no penalty, but then again, I can't imagine someone would purposefully put their foot out there in this situation or one like it.  And then there was the time someone purposefully deflected his own ball during a major, but that's very different too. The only time I can recall a ball I hit hitting another player or their equipment was ages ago -- over a decade and a half ago.  I had a 3' putt for an 89 and someone (a random pairing, not someone I knew) decided it was a good time for goaltending practice.  That wouldn't fall under this rule, though (and it wasn't in a tournament anyway). Thanks for continuing to share these, Dave!  I always find these interesting.
    • Day 51 (29 Apr 26) - Worked with a few of the golf team kids plus my grandson (he’s too young for the team as it’s middle-high school age and he’ll be 10 Sat).  He put on a small hitting clinic (hitting off the same tees as the rest of the boys) - one of the older kids called him a “coach”.  Worked in a few shots for myself - had the light bag: driver, 7w, 4 - 6 - 8 - Pw - Sw (DCI 962’s except the Sw a 981) and Zebra putter….got in some great tee shots, a couple of recovery and an awesome up and down for bogie: 55 yds out, hitting 4th shot due to 2nd getting tangled in limbs - see the window I need to hit for a tight spinner with the Sw - nail it to a postage letter distance from the cup for a tap in bogie….my kind of practice.
    • Day 21, April 29.  Before going to work this morning, I worked in my indoor practice room for 20 minutes.   This was entirely 6-iron shots with the usual step.  Video yesterday showed me that I'm still straightening my trail leg too much (leading to the backswing length issue I've been working to fix), so I focused on not doing that in my rehearsal swings.
