I’m getting ready to take the sUAS Part 107 exam for my license to fly small unmanned aircraft. Wondering if anyone else here has taken and passed the exam. If so, have you used it commercially?

I may do something like this at some point, but haven’t yet. Are you planning to do some commercial drone shooting, or just doing it for fun right now?

I'm taking the exam just for the fun of it but it'll be nice to have the ability to do it commercially if the chance comes up.

Update - Yaaay! Took and passed the exam today. Have applied for my remote pilot's certificate. Should have it within a couple of weeks assuming my TSA vetting goes OK.

@Zippo  Don't be flying your drones over my house!  I practice my pitching on the front lawn and would prefer you don't see me chunking any of those shots.

Good for you in getting your certification!  Sounds like you've earned a night out at Tony's Bar & Grill.

Don't worry @Double Mocha Man I'm only allowed to fly to an altitude of 400 feet AGL (with some exceptions) so that would put my aircraft in danger of being struck by one of your high flying pitches!

And, thanks!

I'm a licensed land surveyor and I've worked for a couple different companies that have used drones to do photogrammetry and lidar mapping, and a current business partner of mine has a drone with a lidar sensor that he uses on his larger topographic mapping projects.  I don't have the license at this time but I wouldn't mind getting one eventually; it's just really, really, really low on my list of priorities.
