It's my dirty little secret... I watch a reality TV show. I know it isn't that great a show, but I still have to watch them.

Anyone else?

Boy, a few of them are hot However, a few of them really stink at golf from what I've seen so far I'll watch it, but I've found the series to be getting pretty old over the last few seasons of it. Hope this one turns out better.

I hope Andrew McGee ends up being better than that tool they had on the BB Mesquite. At least he knows the game, but everything seems forced with him, even when he's on The Approach.

I watched and it reminded me of cats in a room with only 1 bowl of tuna.

P.S. Has anyone took 5 strokes to get up and down from 50 yards and... be a 5 handicap or less?

I'm not trying to sound sexist here, but I'm not a fan of the new season. I don't see the purpose of having an all women show. For the most part, golf is a male dominated sport. The problem I think there will be with the women is that it's going to be more drama and "he said-she said" nonsense and not enough competition. Plus I liked the idea of having male/female teams on the Reunion. Thought it brought a new element into it.

Well, c'mon, it's not like women don't have a Tour of their own or anything... but yeah, it's for ratings. Men watch the Golf Channel and men like to look at cute or hot babes playing golf. The cattiness is a valuable "perk" of having all women.

But c'mon, they can golf... it's not like just because they're female they shouldn't be playing golf.

What about the one that doesn't play in shoe's? Is going bare foot even allowed on most golf courses?

I don't know. It fits within the "no metal spikes" policy.

The only real harm might be from pesticides/fertilizers.

Andrew will have to be better than that other guy... he was terrible. Stina should be pretty good too, and not too bad to look at.

ALRIGHT... I confess... I have taken 5 strokes to get down from 50 before, but not in a long time. Her shots didn't even look like good misses. I guess time will tell if she has any game. It is funny that she's not in the first elimination though.

One of the guys did this in another season I think.

I find when there's a bunch of women on there it's more interesting, because some of them are cute.

In fact that's why I quickly lost interest in the previous one, because it was all guys.

I confess that I watch "Big Break." I have even enjoyed some of the shows and find that
even the contrived moments are laughable.

This one should be interesting.

Did I hear right that the winner gets a one year exemption on the LPGA?

That guy in season 1 or 2 went barefoot till he stepped on something and hurt his foot, barefoot is silly, Jim Mcmahon plays barefoot.

I tell ya though, that fat woman pisses me off, she is so jealous she is the big cayoga bear.

I started watching this show the middle of season 2, season 3 was the first to show the women and since they filmed it right up the road from here I watched. I confess, I enjoy watching attractive women golf. This is probably the only series tv show that I watch weekly. Didn't catch it last night but I am sure I'll see the rebraodcast of it.

I thought the show idea is fine. Of course they have women on, some moderately attractive, for us guys to watch. I mean on the first episode they made some of the women go into a pool - totally unnecessary (well it depends on perspective ;)).

I do think Kim is going to win, she hits it longer, seems calm under pressure and had a very nice sand save. The girl without shoes, she shouldn't be on the at show and the longer she is on it - the more the others will be p'oed about it! sounds like a show to watch to me...

    • Never practiced golf when I was young and the only lesson ever taken was a driver lesson. I feel like I'm improving every year. However, the numbers don't support my feeling about improving. I usually drop to 12-13 during the summer while playing the familiar courses around home and then go on golf trips in the fall to new courses and increase to end the year between 15-17. Been a similar story for a number of years now but hey, it's the best thing there is in life so not too bothered but reaching 9.9 is the objective every year. Maybe a few lessons and practice could help me achieve it since I pretty much have no idea what I'm doing, just playing and never practice.
    • I am semi-loyal. Usually buy four dozen of one ball and only play that until out and then determine whether to continue or try another one. Since starting my semi-loyal path to success, I've been playing the below, not in order: ProV1 ProV1x ProV1x left dash AVX Bridgestone BXS Srixon Z-star XV I am not sure if it has helped anything, but it gives a bit of confidence knowing that it at least is not the ball (while using the same one) that gives different results so one thing less to mind about I guess. On the level that I am, not sure whether it makes much difference but will continue since I have to play something so might as well go with the same ball for a number of rounds. Edit: favorite is probably the BXS followed by ProV1/Srixon Z-star XV. Haven't got any numbers to back it up but just by feel.
    • Will not do it by myself, going to the pro shop I usually use after Cristmas for input and actually doing the changes, if any, but wanted to get some thoughts on whether this was worthwhile out of curiosity.
    • In terms of ball striking, not really. Ball striking being how good you are at hitting the center of the clubface with the swing path you want and the loft you want to present at impact.  In terms of getting better launch conditions for the current swing you have, it is debatable.  It depends on how you swing and what your current launch conditions are at. These are fine tuning mechanisms not significant changes. They might not even be the correct fine tuning you need. I would go spend the $100 to $150 dollars in getting a club fitting over potentially wasting money on changes that ChatGPT gave you.  New grips are important. Yes, it can affect swing weight, but it is personal preference. Swing weight is just one component.  Overall weight effects the feel. The type of golf shaft effects the feel of the club in the swing. Swing weight effects the feel. You can add so much extra weight to get the swing weight correct and it will feel completely different because the total weight went up. Imagine swinging a 5lb stick versus a 15lb stick. They could be balanced the same (swing weight), but one will take substantially more effort to move.  I would almost say swing weight is an old school way of fitting clubs. Now, with launch monitors, you could just fit the golfer. You could have two golfers with the same swing speed that want completely different swing weight. It is just personal preference. You can only tell that by swinging a golf club.
    • Thanks for the comments. I fully understand that these changes won't make any big difference compared to getting a flawless swing but looking to give myself the best chance of success at where I am and hopefully lessons will improve the swing along the way. Can these changes make minor improvements to ball striking and misses then that's fine. From what I understood about changing the grips, which is to avoid them slipping in warm and humid conditions, is that it will affect the swing weight since midsize are heavier than regular and so therefore adding weight to the club head would be required to avoid a change of feel in the club compared to before?
