not quite the golf store, but i ordered 100 AAAA Nike One Platinums from lostgolfballs.com and they were delivered today. Best part was...41 bucks shipped and only 14 of 100 looked like they've been hit. 86 of them could pass for new.

after falling in love with my 60* spin milled vokey, i recently picked up a matching 56*

I picked up a sleeve of Titleist Tour Balata 100s today. I'm gonna play them with my old MacGregor set this summer - I wonder if they'll last 18 holes.

Today I bought a Cleveland CG14 Black Pearl 56-14 Sand Wedge with a steel shaft. My old sand wedge had a graphite shaft and I am hoping the extra weight of the new club will make better contact on sand shots. The price was reasonable vs. the latest and greatest.

Just got my old putter (a Ping anser) bent to new specs. With my current (Fisher) putter, I feel I've been standing too far away, and there's not enough loft. I had this bent to 68° (lie) and 5° (loft) (from 71/4), and will try it out later this week. If I like the configuration, I'll try it during a few rounds (I've got 13 clubs currently, so it's fine) and possibly bend my current one to it.

My wife bought me a dozen Pentas today. I couldnt believe it. She knew I wanted some, but I was baffled. She does buy me golf stuff often, but usually birthday/xmas stuff.

An hour later, she mentioned a leftover new Mini Cooper she found a few hours from here for a good price. Oh sweetheart, I should have known.

      It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…

      I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
