Strange forum quirk

I've noticed off and on since joining that sometimes after I've read a post, later in the day it will pop back up as unread with a new timestamp on it. I've actually seen the stamp change, like it will be marked read, last post 3 hours ago, and then be marked unread, last post 30 minutes ago, but nothing new has been posted.
Anyone else notice that?

You're probably looking at items with polls. If someone votes, the thread is marked as new.

I wish I could turn that off or disable it after the first week or so a poll is up, but I don't think that's possible. It's kind of annoying.

I notice it with threads I've posted in that are not polls. I'll be the last post 2 hours ago, but when I revisit the site, it shows me as the last post 1 minute ago. Strange.

did you try clearing your temp files then refreshing?

I'm probably way off base here, but I'd kind of thought maybe it was caused by somebody editing an earlier post.

Hmm. Could be. I'm not hip to all the internal workings of board software, but I just thought it was strange.
