Word is… "It’s the next evolution of the Lux line — upgraded waterproof knit material with a leather saddle. New Achilles heel pad, TPU mudguard above the midsole."

To continue… "It’s a sweet shoe." 😉

The highlights as I understand them…

• Waterproof Knit Upper.
• Napa Leather Saddle.
• Achilles Heel Pad.
• Heel Lock System with elastic, TPR, and heel pad.
• TPU Mud Guard extends past the toe.
• Tread is Tour tested.
• Natural Fit with a wide toe box.
• 6mm Drop.

@iacas  no. I have not. Still have a brand new pair of the lux sport. Will grab a pair by mid season. I assume the sizing will be the same as the lux sport. The black or white ones are on the radar. Very good looking shoes.

My Trues have arrived. My initial feeling on them is not stellar. I don’t really like the shoe. I ordered a 12 since they have knit components. They are a stiff shoe and maybe a 12 was not the correct size for me. I am in between and 11.5 and 12. I also do not like the laces. They seem cheap in comparison to the Lux Sport. I am not sure if I will exchange for the 11.5 in black or simply exchange for another pair of the Lux sport. I cannot give a performance review on these. Initial reaction and feel on my feet is all.

FWIW, I found the Lux Sport to run small in size and feel a lot different than other True Shoes. I bought a last chance pair in December. I also usually wear a 12.

I will have to check what size I wear. The Lux Sport for me was still a tad to snug to begin with, but then relaxed a bit and it’s now a great fit. It took like wearing them twice to have them stretch out a bit.

I wear a size 10.5 in the Lux Sport.

Here is a summary of shoe sizes...

OG Feel: 10
Original: 10
Lux Sport: 10.5
Knit: 10

I have a slightly wide foot. It isn't uncommon for me to upsize to a 10.5.

I opted to exchange the vis grey 12s for vis black 11.5. Still not a fan of the laces they selected for this shoe. I will try the 1/2 smaller and different color and provide feedback once I receive.

Did you tell them? What did they say?

I mean, on one level… they're laces. You can replace them.

@iacas  no i did not mention the laces to them. Perhaps if the 11.5 are a no go I will tell them as a long time true consumer i am disappointed in the laces selected for this shoe. Yes only laces but they do stand out as that is how you tighten the shoe.

What I should have done before sending them back was re lace with the knit ii lacing. But I just thought of that now. Hindsight.

The 11.5 Vis blacks have arrived. Super easy exchange process. 11.5 is a better fit for me. I will be keeping these. The black is super sleek looking with the camo saddle. Since these fit I took a few practice swings. Shocked by how structured these feel especially in the heel and sides. Tentatively playing this Saturday. Will give real play feedback if it works out. I got over the laces.

    • Good advice. In general, you want to take whatever weight you are lifting to a couple of reps before failure, for muscle growth. There are other tactics for PT related stuff. I would trust your PT person.  For muscle growth, you can go like 30 reps to failure. It is tougher to gauge. Also, it takes 2x as long to do the same number of working sets per week if you are doing 15 instead. It is way less efficient, but your case is special because of the injury/aggravation to the hip.
    • Several years ago I got paired with a twosome of golfers, one of which had a maybe 5-year-old son with him. The kid had a putter and a 7i with him, and on some holes he would drop a ball near the green, chip on, and putt. If the kid started to get distracted, the dad would ask, "Do you need to rest?" The kid would nod yes, and then take his dad's seat riding in the cart for a couple of holes. It was a slow day, and the kid was polite and friendly. We got through 18 just fine. (If it had been a crowded course day, I'm sure it would have been less pleasant.)
    • Caution for the seniors on weight training: Listen to your body. (I'm 75) I got a recent session with an orthopedist after a training-related injury. I put too much weight on a new resistance machine at the gym and ended up with bursitis in my left hip. Of course, it's the hip I dislocated back in 2023. I have my first physical therapy session tomorrow. I remarked that some days I can do 45 lbs. chest press - two sets - without much effort. But other days it drops down to 30 (😩) with just one set. (Complicating factor: I had digestive problems in this fall and lost about 20 lbs., with slip in muscle tone.) Orthopedist said that I want to feel some resistence, but that I should go with lots of reps with manageable weights rather than trying to set some sort of lift-pound record. I'm sure I'll get some refinements on lifting during tomorrow's PT.
