No thread on US Women's Open???  Shocking!

Korda made a 10 on her third hole Thursday and failed to break 80 at Lancaster Country Club.

I love watching Nelly, but she seems to struggle in our nation's Open.

That’s rough. After her incredible run lately she puts three balls in the water. Made me think of Tiger’s 10 at the 12th on Augusta, also with three submarines.

Round one had three amateurs in the top ten and 20 players shoot over 80, and the top player is already out of it? Ouch.

This is great, I love the carnage. Bring on the "not fairs"

No complaints from me. Every  major should test every shot  a  golfer  has.

It seems like any small mistake is exponentially exacerbated in the U.S. Open set up.  This tournament seems to be a very good test on identifying who makes the least mistakes - not who makes the best shots.

In this case they are  playing a  course where a  mistake  means a  bogey  instead  of a  par.

I am hoping Minjee Lee can put together another good round tomorrow and win her second U.S. Open Championship.

Of the remaining LPGA players, she would be the one I will be watching.  I was hoping Nelly would somehow pull off a miracle and make it into the weekend, but that 10 on par 3 on Thursday derailed her any chance of making it to the weekend.

I presume you are referring to Nelly?

Seems like she cannot handle the USGA's set up for some reason.  I am rooting for her to figure it out soon and get her hands around that trophy.

Pretty solid play for Saso. I enjoyed it. Meechai took a beating. That’s a US OPEN right there!

    • @colin007, in terms of realistic sci-fi, its the best ever. They actually had an astrophysicist consult on the movie to be as accurate as possible with what we know about the universe.  For like dystopian, Blade Runner is probably king. Action/suspense is probably Alien/Aliens. Though Starship Troopers is fantastic. The Matrix is amazing.
    • Day 4 (August 14).  Full swing in my indoor practice room;  6-iron, off a mat, into a net.  Focus was on what I believe was my priority piece at last lesson (which, admittedly, was almost three years ago, due to absence).  I hit about a dozen balls this morning before going into the office.  (Also, errata to yesterday:  9 of the 12 coins were picked up on the second or third go around -- you can't pick up one on the first go around for that drill)
    • Watched The Gentlemen, took a little bit to get into it, but very good Guy Ritchie movie.  Collin Farrell and Hugh Grant were great. Give it a birdie.
    • Played in the Rhode Island CC Senior Member guest, my partner and I won the tournament. 2-day Stableford format, we ended with 104 points, won by 7. Points include 2 holes on each 9, where both players score count, can make up some points if you both play well on those holes.  @DaveP043has played a similar format (I played with Dann from RICC).
    • Played Wannamoisett CC on Monday.  What a neat old Donald Ross course, Par 69.  The conditions were immaculate, might be one of the best maintained courses, I've played.
