Least amount of putts you ever had?

I set my personal record yesterday with 26. It was a very odd round. I couldn't hit fairways or greens to save my life. Just a bunch of good putts, and up and downs. On the 8th hole, a long par 3, I one-hopped a pitch shot into the cup. On the front side, I had 11 putts altogether.

Just wondering what some other records are on here. I'm sure many of you don't keep track of putts so it's hard to say. I just started recently but enjoy keeping track and learning from my mistakes.

11 on the front and 12 on the back, mind you they were extreamly easy greens, and I was chipping VERY well, most puts were just tap in's.

In a real round with no freebies or anything like that-41. No joke. My short term goal is to get down into the 30's. The other day on 9 (very difficult) holes I shot a 44 with 21 putts. I only had 3 3 putts on 9 holes.

I am so awful at putting it is crazy.

I just recently started keeping track of putts as well but I know that the two 30 putt rounds (both with zero 3 putts)that I've had this season are by far my best ever. My putting is extremely weak but I'm hoping to get to where I'm consitently under 30 putts/rd.

26 putts is my best for a round. Putting is not my strength by any stretch of the imagination.

My first round of the year I played 9 and got 12 putts. So if i did the same on the back = 24.
But that would probably never happen.

27 putts in my all time low round: 75. 16 putts on the front, 11 on the back. Everything went in on the back 9. I wish I was using scorecard technology back then--I would have kept track of the distance of those putts.

Don't be so sure.

I had a round with 24 putts a few weeks back and 26 on Saturday. It doesn't mean you're putting that well, necessarily. It probably means you're hitting your irons like crap, missing greens and are putting from just off the green frequently. If you have a decent short game you should be aiming to get down in 2 from the vicinity of the green, so it's no big deal. Hole one from an inch off the green and chip in once and you're on your way to a good sounding number of putts. You'll find that in a round where you have a super low number of putts it means you're making everything under 6 foot. And missing greens. Don't be confusing a low number of putts with brilliant putting. And that's by using PGA Tour statistics. I still feel like I have 3 putted if I use a putter from 1 foot off the green even if "statistically' it is a 2 putt. Likewise, if I putt from just off the green and take two, it feels like a 2 putt, even though it counts as 1.

You just described the round which inspired this thread. I made some good putts for sure, no 3 putts also. But I only hit 3 friggin greens all day, but my Sand Wedge was sensational. I finally got the pitch shot down pat, one hop and it stops. Made 2 decent length putts (12 ft and 20 ft) but it was all about the SW. 3 greens is pathetic for a player at my level.

Since I began keeping good stats about 3 years ago my best is 22 putts with 2 chip ins and 23 putts with no chip ins (5 times), my worst is 34 putts but I did manage to hit 16 greens that day

From memory I have had less putts than 23 in a round but I have no hard recorded evidence of it so I'll just keep it as above at 23.

My average over this period is 28.7 putts per round (no such thing as a gimme for me either). I don't hole a lot of long putts (say over 20 feet) but I don't miss many short ones either and I 3 putt only once every 2 or 3 rounds.

Somewhere around 35. My putting is awful and I can't seem to get it together. I am going to go to one of Dave Pelz's golf clinics for a day, and hopefully that can improve my putting.
