Well I decided to go with Craftys Word "One" It is a short word that Can be put in there and that seems so simple, yet explains a ton.

I can't see it when I look up on my hat, I have to take it off to see it. Also its not ruining my hat. It's an old hat.

Ben has a good suggestion there, regarding tempo. Think of a song or music. I'm not sure but if memory serves me right, i read somewhere that Jack Nicklaus used to hum "Jamaica Farewell".

Me, am just a weekend golfer but I kinda like humming Bob Marley's version of "Baby I love your way"- nice tempo keeps me calm, doesn't help me score great but helps me enjoy the game.

Just give it your best! Good luck!

I started off the same as last game there, going -2 after 2 holes. Stayed Solid through the whole 9 playing very well and feeling strong. Finished off +1 (35) after 9.

I started losing confidence in my chiping for some reason, and after one shank of the lob wedge I lost confidence and started thinking about shanking every time i was chipping. After 12 I was +1 and then I totally fell apart.

Took a triple on 13 and a double on 14. had about three 3 putts on the back. My chipping left me for some really long putts. Pressure didn't get to me, its just where I left my pitches and putts left me. Despite all that I had the 3rd best score out of 15 and pretty sure I made the team, will find out soon. Yay?

Total: 35 (+1) 44 (+9) 9 OVER ON THE BACK?!!!

Good Lord, you guys only have one qualifying round? What happens if someone has an off day (the flu) or has a fluke great round?

Still, I would think a 79 should get you in! Shanks on chips are a result of not getting the hands through the ball first. For some reason, it does seem to happen in spurts.

Aha thats great, I only looked at the top of my hat a couple times. The reason I shanked my chips because I never had confidence and would stop the club as soon as the face touched the ball..

We only have one qualifying round. I guess it is how it is. He watched everyone played and was very impressed with me and another friend. And definatly noticed my +1 on the front.

Thank you, my lowest 9 for sure. But dissapointed about the back. If i just put the 35 on my tracker i would gone down to a 7.4 but because of the 79 i stay the same.

Congrats, Dent. I hope you made the team.

The next time you don't feel confident about a shot, step away, think about every good shot you've made and give it a go. Remember, this game is about positive thoughts, even if the situation is dire or unnerving.

I hope you went - or at least plan to go - and do some practice chipping to have good ones for your recent ones, yes? In any case, you broke 80 in a high pressure round. Great job! Keep up the awesome work, I hope you make the team. And congratulations again.

Congrats, Dent. I hope you made the team.

You make a very good point there. I knew i should have done that. I was always thinking if i should step away, but no matter what the thought in my head was I tried to reverse it with a positive and shot anyway, in which I should'nt have done.

Dang it, I was going to suggest putting "CALM THE F*** DOWN" inside the brim.

Sounds like you did pretty well. If you're in the top 3 Id think its a lock outta 15. Is there a set number that get chosen or open slots available?

I think only 4 make the team. 3 guys all shot 79, and the other shot a little higher, and decent golfer, but choked.

@ Shindig: I actually plan to do a ton of chipping and putting practise soon, I just dont know where to do it, I can do it in the park behind my house if I dont get caught, Or go to a golf course and practise.

At school right now and haven't heard anything from the golf coach. I'm pretty sure I made the team. Even though I did horrible the top 4 scores, were

79,79,79,82 (or 88 because I think he cheated)

Nobody played good at all. Also my buddy who shot 79 should have had a higher score also, because he double hit a chip near the green. I called him on it, but let it go to cut him some slack.

He wouldn't admit he did it, he just said "oh, I dunno"

    • Day 364: About an hour and a half practice session. Spent most of it at the range. Did a solid 30 minutes of work on my priority piece, with filming. I think it's improving, but will probably check in on Evolvr to make sure. Then spent the last ~20 minutes putting, working mostly on short putts.

    • Day 79 (19 July 25) - Band rehearsal this morning - got home midafternoon, opted to work more with the magnetic alignment tool with the wedges.  Used it to work on face position at the bottom of the swing arc - followed up with easy pitches up to 50yds.  Seeing better face control and over improved accuracy toward target…session was cut short with pop up rain showers.
    • This is a great discussion. Other parts of the course where there are houses have white stakes and signs. This keeps people from trespassing and hitting shots on their property. There is another county road on the east side of the course that does not have white stakes like the hole I described. I checked the score card and there is nothing to indicate these roadways are OB. I think a county drainage ditch would be considered government right-of-way so it is the peoples land 🤣. But you are in the power industry and know more about those sorts of things than me.
    • Day 3: Worked on backswing. Feel: Matt Wolff, Real: Not yanking it inside and getting it laid off and flat at the top.
