i hit a few of them today.i liked all of them...my favorite's were the d3s and the f3s both with the voodoo.i flew the driver about 295 everytime and then the 3wood 13 degree about 265. the only downside is the titleist exclusive voodoo is a weaker shaft then the real vs6 or the vs7 which is what i'm gettin tomorrow both the head and the shaft are the tour spec.gettin them for free:) then i have to figure out what shaft i want for the three wood.....but i love these absolutely....

Im not sure which one I should get of the titleist 909 series, I know they have different ball flights? which do you guys recommend?

Most will tell you to get fitted to know for sure. It also has a lot to do with the shafts. It seems that a number of people do not care for the stock shaft, but so far it seems to fit me alright. Based on what I have read, it seems most people like the D3.

tws1098 is right, getting fit for the right one is the best option. however, based on the flight characteristics you can find on the Titleist website, you can get a decend idea of which particular model you are looking for. In my case, I was considering the Titleist 909 D2 with a 9.5 head and a Diamana Blue stiff shaft. I went to a Titliest demo/fitting day and found out that the 909D2 10.5 with a Matrix Ozik XCon-6 was a better option for me. Was it a major difference? No but I hit my first 300 yard drives with this one.

What trajectory are you looking for? The different shafts will have a dramatic effect on the trajectory of the drivers. It's about trying them all out.

yea I'm looking off this used club site and the only one they have in stiff shaft is the d3 all the others are regular

well ive got the Dcomp and the D2 as demos. I liked the D2 a little more but to be honest I didnt find anything special about them so I think im going to pass on one. I however cant get past how great the callaway diablo edge feels to be. I dont hear much about them on this forum but for some reason they just fit me well.

I broke my 905R shaft on a golf trip in palm springs and picked up a used 909D3 for 249 at a golf shop cause non of the 3 local shops said they could fix it in less the 2 days.
9.5* 905R w/ Graphite Design YS-6 Stiff shaft
vs
9.5* 909D3 w/ Graffaloy pro launch blue 65 Stiff
lets just say the 905R is getting repaired with the same shaft +0.5". From a visual address there is VERY little difference between the 2 but my shots were quite a bit less consistent. I'm blaming the shaft not the club head I actually like the physical changes asthetically (darker paint, face grooves and sole are all nice) but it felt lighter IMO and less solid. Again I think the shaft had alot to do with this.

OG Hoofer bag
Titleist 905R 9.5°, Grapite Design YS-6+ (S)
Callaway Warbird 4 wood, Grafalloy ProLaunch 65S
Ping ISI-s: JZ Cushin Regular flex, white dot
Titleist Vokey Design 54° "AW", Cleveland 588 60° "LW", Ping IWI Craz-E

Home Course: Falcon Dunes, Luke AFB, AZ

Does anyone play the 909 series? Specifically the 909h 19,21, or 24 what shaft do you use? What about the fw? Less I interested in the driver. For whatever reason I think these are such a great looking club series. I played the 909h 19 degree for a bit I didn't like the shaft that was in it when I bought it used. I always wanted to grab a 21 or 24 with adiamanha stiff hybrid but never saw one in the used racks. Come to think of it I don't think I have ever seen a 4 wood either. Sorry for the tangent just really like the aesthetics of the 909 line by Titleist.

    • Day 11, 1/11/26.  Today was putting, along about 6' of carpet, with coins on the ground to keep me cognizant of what I'm doing.  I think this is the at-home drill from LSW. (Ugh, missed two of the last four days -- 1/10 and 1/8)
    • Day 9: 2026.01.11 Hit some balls at the range, concentrating on weight distribution at address, got some on film.
    • Day 468 - 2026-01-11 Loooooong day. Did some work in the patio door (as a mirror) when I got home.
    • I caught a video on this driver; the face tech seems crazy. Looking at the heat map for ball speed, hitting it basically anywhere on the face only loses a few percent ball speed. The surprising and counter intuitive part to me was that for flat faced clubs, ball speed loss is directly proportional to distance loss. For clubs with bulge and roll this is apparently not true. The surprising part of that story being that the max distance potential looks to be a tiny pee sized area for this driver, and I feel in general for drivers. The counter intuitive part being (the myth?) that blade irons have a pee sized sweet spot and missing that tiny spot causes dramatic losses. And that modern drivers, maybe 2017 on, have massive sweet spots and are ultra forgiving. Where in reality, if this heat map data is valid and reliable, it might be a bit of the opposite. This insane tech driver appears to have a pea sized "sweet spot" while Mizuno Pro 241 irons are 28% more forgiving compared to the average of all clubs measured. Not compared to other players irons, compared to all clubs from all categories, players to SGI! The Pro 241 being essentially just a solid chunk of metal with no "tech" at all. Which for me devolves into a whole mess of what is forgiveness really? And in measurable and quantifiable results how many yards, or feet, does that translate into?
