punch/pitch-3/4 PW for me. Coming up I didn't have money for sand wedges..lobs..etc so I learned to hit my PW anyway I needed to. It just so happens from 100 it is STILL my first choice.

I have 14 clubs in my bag that I could hit 100 yards if I needed to.

Favorite Practice Course:
Z Boaz Municipal, Fort Worth <<< Ben Hogan grew up playing here!

Had a big gap (not the wedge) for a while but I got some nice wedges this year (Zodia 52* and Yururi 57*). The 57* is about 105 yards for me...52* is 120 and I use my 60* Cleveland for 90 yards in.

In my Datrek Rage bag:
Driver: Sumo 5000 w/ Aldila VS Proto Stiff
4-Wood: SasQuatch 2 w/ Diamana Stiff
Irons: AP2 4-PW w/ PX 6.0
Wedges: Zodia US Spec 52*, Yururi Gekku 57*, 588 DSG RTG+Putter: Scotty Cameron Studio Style 3.5 or Odyssey White Hot Tour #1Ball: ProV1 or whatever I find!

Sand Wedge about 90% of the time, a deeply choked down PW punch shot 10% of the time.

What is your 100 yard club? Or do you have different ones and play different shots with it?

I'll usually do a 3/4 pw. If I need to stop it quick I'll go with a easy full swing lw. Sometimes when I go to Indian Creek in Hood River b/c of wind I'll do a 8i knock down from 100 yds.

A full 52° wedge will get me 100 yards from the fairway, if I am in the rough I will use a 3/4 PW.

that 100 yard range is a gap for me ... I can hit a SW 75-85 yards and I hit an PW about 115-125. So for me it depends on the conditions on the course, if it'sreally dry and I can get some run out of the ball I will hit the SW if it's really wet and the green will hold I will hit a 3/4 PW ...

in ideal conditions i like the 56° at about 95% to go 100.

driver: FT-i tlcg 9.5˚ (Matrix Ozik XCONN Stiff)
4 wood: G10 (ProLaunch Red FW stiff)
3 -PW: :Titleist: 695 mb (Rifle flighted 6.0)
wedges:, 52˚, 56˚, 60˚

That's usually a smooth 60 degree for me, but it depends on lie, wind, and where the pin is on the green.

Depending on the day and my swing.


Sometimes a full 56 and sometimes a smooth 48 PW.


I just got a Vokey SM 54 which will most probably become my 70-105 club.

100 is between my PW and GW. Usually I just hit a PW and hope I don't catch it too clean.

I threw my clubs into the lake so it's time to start over...

i will use my 56 most of the time. i can juice my 60 that far, but god knows where it will end up

      Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.

      I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.

      I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.

      Day 128 12-18 Worked on rotation and getting to lead side. Still working on the flow feeling while doing that. Recorded swings.
