are you serious? this guy won't touch Tiger. Pad won because he was going against Sergio. If Sergio doesn't hit a ball directly into the water, they are atleast in a playoff. Once again, Sergio handed this away.

Tiger would have won by 5 strokes today, atleast.

Padraig is no doubt the BEST golfer in 2008.

I agree. I hope that in 2009 he could win more and more. I hope to see in a final group in a major with Tiger.

I'm sad golf season is almost over Regards!

Padraig's the only golfer on tour who is as clutch as Tiger.

He's fantastic.

Look at all his major wins, he's been sitting a few shots from the lead but is just simply magnificent on the day where it all falls apart for so many. His recovery shots and putting today were unbeliveable.

Well done to Padraig, he comes across well in the media as a good guy. Bob Torrance was saying he's the hardest working player he has ever worked with.

Pad is going to eat tiger's lunch when that gimp gets back on tour.

Pad is going to eat tiger's lunch when that gimp gets back on tour.

He already did in '07 at Carnoustie.

No, I suspect tiger will come back pretty strong especially if he takes his doctor's advice so that he stays healthy.

Wrong. But Padraig

is a great player and deserves every congratulation! However, by virtue of the comparative statistics alone, he is not Tiger and will never compare to Tiger.

The entire week on TV, nothing but Sergio, Phil and Tiger left toe nail (or whatever about Tiger).
I love Harrington. Always below the radar! Nobody talks about him!
Last year, The Open, 1st major win, he caught them (the golf journalists) off guard! "He is a One timer, and I don't think we'll be hear from him soon"
July 2008, The Open, Biggest story, The Shark! And what happens, BAM Harrington again!
August 2008, PGA Championship, Sergio, Sergio, Sergio, Phil, Phil, Phil, Tigers knee, Tigers Knee, Tigers Knee. And what happens! From the left field, Paddy again. Wait a minute lads! I'm here too, and I'm going to win! Second straight.
Way to Go Padraig Harrington,

The coverage of the year's Open that I saw mentioned Harrington quite a bit. I heard story after story about the defending champ and his ailing wrist on Tuesday, Wednesday through the start of the tourney ... the man has gotten his just due.

Harrington is playing really well right now, but he's no Tiger Woods. When Tiger comes back, its going to go back to being business as usual: Tiger winning and everyone else playing for 2nd place.
Harrington made a lot of mistakes and if Garcia hadnt knocked it into the water, we very easily could have been talking about Garcia winning his first major.
Well-played by Harrington though, he did just enough to win and thats really all that matters.

I can't say whether Tiger vs. Padraig would be obviously a Tiger win. . .Things are going to be different when Tiger returns. I definitely agree that Phil should no longer be #2 in the world. He hasn't won a major in 2 years, and just hasn't been very impressive since early, early in the year.

I like Padraig, I think he's great for the game. Can't wait to see he and Tiger duel it out next year.

EDIT: I also saw an interesting statistic on TGC. . .They added up the scores of the players who made the cut for all 4 majors this year. Padraig was at a COMBINED 7 over. The next closest player (2nd) was 21 over. Phil was in 3rd at +22.

His pars on 16 and 18 were incredible. 16 was amazing because he hit a terrible second shot. SG was already in the water and it would have been a great opportunity to pick up two strokes. Just a great up and down for par. Had he missed, I think it would have been a different story. Not just with SG but with Ben, too.

On 18, what can you say? Just an great third shot and "ice water in the veins" par putt.

A well-deserved win.

    • Day 316 - More swings, full backswing and full finish.
    • Day 132: did some mirror work while watching TV. Worked on backswing stuff primarily.
    • 26 Nov 24 -  It was not a record breaking round by any means, but rather a simple walking of the back nine today playing TBWB (two ball-worse ball) where the challenge is to play the worse of the two shots played - could be an errant drive from the woods, a tree knocked ball that is 100 yds farther back down the fairway, a nGIR ball as opposed to a GIR….the goal today was to stay no worse than bogie thru nine.  Managed to achieve that goal - bogied 7 holes with one dbl and one par to counter the dbl.  It’s about staying focused and not letting a bad shot or lie derail, but rather be an opportunity.
    • Day 208 (26 Nov 24)- Opted to walk 9 today (was the back nine as they had a huge group going off the front) but instead of it being persimmons and blades, I had the regular gamers but made it a TBWB (two ball-worst ball) round.  This really challenges on several fronts - ball striking to be as consistent as possible, course management from non-optimal lies and keeping your head in it as it can be depressing to nail a shot on line-on target and the second rattles the trees right and it’s over 50 yards back and that’s the one you have to play.  The goal was to be no worse than bogie overall (+9).  Finished the round exactly on the number with some solid recoveries, no penalty strokes and only one 3-putt.
