Last week I went out on my farm/driving range and hit about 20 to 30 balls with my driver. I forgot my glove and hit the ball very well for me. Today while playing just decent about the 11th hole I decided to play with out my glove. I hit the ball more consistant. Anyway I believe I will continue playing without the glove. Just wondering if many plays without it. I asked my playing partner and he said that Fred Couples don't wear a glove. Thanks for the input.

If your hands don't get too beat up and the club doesn't slip because of sweat or rain, then by all means go with what feels good. These are the reasons I wear a glove. It's really a personal thing.

I haven't worn a glove for years, except in very cold weather. I have a pair of winter golf gloves that I wear if I need them, and I carry a brand new regular glove in my bag just in case of a rare wet day here in Colorado. I've had it in my bag for 4 years without ever needing it.

I wear a glove when I play, but whenever I practice I never wear one. The funny thing is I don't think it makes a difference whether I wear one or not.

I have worn a glove for many many years, and got tired of taking it off & putting it on every few minutes ... so this year I played without one. Seems fine to me. Like another poster mentioned, as long as your hands aren't wet & slippery then I think you are fine.

My dad doesn't wear a glove either, seems like one less thing to have to worry about while playing.

Never wear one because it never really helped me. It feels fine when I try wearing one but since they're not very durable and I play a lot, I feel I'm saving a good amount of money not using one.

I've never worn one.

Me neither. I will wear a glove in the extreme cold or rain if I find that my grip is being affected however.

Sometimes my hand gets sweaty and makes it difficult, especially in summer. Short wedge shots aren't bad but I tried no glove with my driver and almost let go of it!

For the first half of this year I used a glove. I left it in the trunk in August. I played fine and started playing without it. I cleaned my grips really good and haven't had a problem with any slippage... however, I did have a slight problem this last weekend playing in cold windy weather. The grips felt very hard and the dryness of my hands left me with an unsure feeling and some of my shots were less than perfect. I got through the round but I think that in weather like that, the glove would give you a better grip on the club. Luckily, gloves last me a long time. Lesson learned? I'll keep the glove in the bag and not in the trunk!

I wear one, but only because at this point it feels awkward without one. I don't think they are necessary in most circumstances. Going without one probably promotes a softer grip and more natural release. At least my gloves last forever!!! I do take them off between most shots in the summer and I don't use a death grip. Since I started placing the grip more in my fingers I buy about 2 or 3 gloves a year. But one day I'll commit to going Freddie style, he's kinda my hero anyway.

I haven't worn one in years. I used to, but I like the added feel I get when not having it on. If I start getting blisters, I know I'm gripping the club incorrectly, so it gives me an added level of feedback...

No glove here too. I got tired of taking it on and off for putting and then realized that I was fine without it the whole round.

I have a problem with my hands - the skin is very sensitive. This is a recent development (3 years or so). I have to wear two gloves and keep them on all round, including putting. I prefer playing without but I have no choice.
