Hello all, I am dire need of some new clubs, and was looking for advice. If anyone has experience with these clubs or any clubs they think would compare, let me know please. Thank you all.

Looking at..
Cleveland cg2 and cg red
Titleist 695 cb
Mizuno mp 32, and mp 67
Taylor made tp mb
Callaway X-forged
Bridgeston J36.

I have tried all at different times, and loved each set.

Whats in the bag?
909 D3 8.5* UST Mamiya Tour Green X
909 F3 13* UST ATTAS X

Those are all excellent sets with very similar performance characteristics. I'd just go for the ones that look the best to your eye when set behind the ball! For me that meant that I went for Macgregor Pro M irons as the profile was very similar to the clubs I used to play in the dim and distant past but if you prefer a more modern look the Clevelands and Callaways could be more to your taste, good luck, Jenks.

In my Tour bag
Driver - Cyberstar (9*), cut to 43.5 inches long with tonnes of lead tape attatched to the head.
Fairway 909F2 (13.5*), Diamana blue 83 shaft, 42 inches long
Rescues Heaven wood (17*)
909h (21*) Diamana blue shaft Irons Pro M (3-PW), Rifle 5.0 shafts Wedges KZG TRS (52* +...

I can honestly say I have never heard a bad word said about Bridgestone equipment. I would also add the Nike VR split cavity irons to that list (not heard anything bad about those either).

I'm sorry, but I find this amusing. You are a 5.2 hc and you're asking a db where the vast majority here have a higher hc than yours.

Now, moving on; from the list, hard to go wrong with Mizuno or Bridgestone. Off of the list I'd have to say the new Niki blades are really sweet and remind me of my MP 32's with the way they hit, AND they are drop dead sexy.

From personally I would go with the X forged ot the 695 cb. Id also like to put out there the titleist AP2 and titleist MB. This year I think titleist has completly taken over the market for lower handicaps.

FWIW, I just put the 695cb's in my bag (replacing my venerable 962's) and absolutely love them.

Consistent, workable, that great forged feel, perfect trajectory for me, and absolutely beautiful to my eye.

In David's bag....

Driver: Titleist 910 D-3;  9.5* Diamana Kai'li
3-Wood: Titleist 910F;  15* Diamana Kai'li
Hybrids: Titleist 910H 19* and 21* Diamana Kai'li
Irons: Titleist 695cb 5-Pw

Wedges: Scratch 51-11 TNC grind, Vokey SM-5's;  56-14 F grind and 60-11 K grind

Just because he's a lower handicap doesn't mean he knows more.

Anyway, I think you need to determine how much you plan to work the ball. If you are just planning to hit the same ballflight over and over for the most part, the CG Reds may be the most forgiving. If you are a "player" and work a lot of your shots into greens, I would lean more towards the Bridgestones or Mizunos. And then there's the question of whether or not you want a forged club. That would get rid of a couple of your choices if you did.

Hmmm.... quite a dilemma. I'm quite biased towards Mizuno for their solid/soft feel. I own the 32s so I recommend them. For some reason, I've never hit a Titleist iron but I'm sure their irons feel very solid as well. Can't go wrong with Bridgestone either.

I've demoed the 695s, the MP-67s, and the TaylorMade TP MBs with DG S300 shafts and the Cally X-Forged with a Project X 6.0. They're all wonderful clubs and, for me, distances on good strikes were about the same for all of them.

I liked the 67s better than the 695s. I just had an easier time hitting them and, to me, they didn't feel as harsh while still letting me know what I screwed up.

I liked the 67s better than the TP MBs in the short irons. However, in the longer irons I truly preferred the TP MBs. I had an easier time finding the sweet spot and they just felt more crisp.

I only hit the Cally 6-iron. It was a nice club, but for me it felt a little hollow. Better feel than the X-20 tour I hit side-by-side with it (same shaft), but I just didn't care for it.

I've heard nothing but good things about Bridgestone irons but I have never hit them.

Just my thoughts. Best idea's still to try as many as you can and make your own judgement. Best of luck!

out of the clubs you listed, these would get my votes (in this order): 1. Callaway X Forged 2. Bridgestone J36 (combo) 3. Titleist 695CB 4. Mizuno MP67 5. Cleveland CG Reds i've never hit the Taylor Mades so I cant offer my opinion on those, sorry you have a great list there. i would game any one of them. good luck!

thanks everyone keep em comin....

How do you find the XLS hybrid? The offset put me off ever trying it.

You can't go wrong with a set of Mizuno's. Just make sure you choose a model that's best suited for your game. I'm also a big fan of the Titleist AP2s as you can see from my signature. I just found them better for my game than the Miz MP57s. Cleveland CG Reds were nice if you can get past the appearance (red insert) and the Callaway x forged are nice but not as forgiving. Never tried Bridgestone.

Definitely try the AP2s, you'll be impressed.

In my BagBoy Clip-Lok bag:

I have the MP32s and I love them. That said, for me, the TMs, without question, are the best irons I've ever hit. (RAC MB, 2005 CB series and MP32, in that order)

Also, the CG Reds are really nice. I hit them, indoors, a few weeks ago and really forgiving. They are also a really good looking iron, in person. The pics don't do them justice.

I would suggest the Bridgestones, J36 in pocket cavity!

Driver: Callaway Diablo Edge Tour 10.5* (UST Proforce v2 77g X Flex) 3 Wood: Callaway Diablo 15* (UST Proforce v2 86g S Flex). 2 Hybrid: Adams A4 Tech 17* (UST Proforce v2 105g S Flex). 3 and 4 Hybrid: Adams Idea Pro 20* and 23* (UST Proforce v2 105g S Flex)
Irons: Tour Edge Exotics...

All pretty good. I didn't like the cg reds that much. Hit them to high and wasn't able to work the ball that much. I switched to some Cobra pro cbs and love em. I would recommend takin a look. They have great workability and are pretty forgiving.

Driver: Ping G10 V2 shaft

Hybrid: Nickent 3dx V2 shaft
Irons: Cobra Carbon cb 3-P

I'm really liking this set right now....and evaluating some new irons this year....these are running neck and neck with the Mizuno MP 62s on my short list.

I like the J36 CBs also. I'm positive on whichever set I get having the Project X shaft. Been gaming the Rifle shafts for a few years now and enjoying them.

What is going to happen when I put Alidila NV shafts on a set of Ping Raptures? High kick(low launch) shaft with high launch irons?
