What was your first score?

i was a kid my first round out and i dont think anyone kept score... i think when i first started getting serious my first round was about 120-130 or so

The Lord only knows. Your first round score isn't really important but having enough fun to keep coming back over and over and over again is. Congrats on getting started.

My first time ever on a course was last week and a 54, this week I shot a 48 on 9 hole par 36. How is this for a first timer?

I hit the range about 10-15 times with a friend who is around an 8 handicap before i went out on the course.

First time on a real course i shot a 60 and i had a chip in. It was such a sweet first round

Wow... I am impressed that some of your first scores were in the 100 - 110 range. On my first trip out I scored a 134... after 3 years of playing I now shoot right around 100 but have never broken it.

I feel so ashamed.

After about 2 summers of fooling around on the range just for fun , i played 98 on my first 18 holes. Mind you , it wasn't a very tough course by any means , but i was still veeeeery happy.

Well, being that my first round of golf was about forty years ago, I don't remember!! I'm pretty sure I had a hot dog at the turn though...

My first score was a 102 or 103, and I haven't shot over 100 since, but I caught the bug and hit the range pretty heavy after that first round and didn't play again for about 2-3 weeks or until I felt more comfortable. I suggest you take a lesson and get the basics down and spend enough range time to groove somewhat of a repeatable golf swing. The golf course is not the place to learn how to swing a golf club, the range is.

I still have the scorecard from my first round. I shot 112 that day, a number i wouldnt get under again for another 3 months..hahaha.

I've actually only played 12 rounds since december 2007.First recorded round 116,then a 121.

I'm now averaging 104 based on last 8 rounds,imagine how much I would improve if I could play more.
Time spent playing is my enemy,although in between I have played at the range and what you would call executive style courses in the US here in England.

I was in mid 50s the first time I ever was on a golf course to play. Shot 88 (for the 1st 9 noles) and 81 for the 2nd 9. I was so mad that I went bought a book on golfing. Read it next day and then went out and shot 68 for 9. It has been coming down ever since.

My first round as an adult was 118 at Crystal Falls G.C. in Leander, Tx. I remember exactly one nice shot with a 3-wood: perfectly straight, probably 220 yards. The rest went in completely unpredictable locations. After I hit that shot I thought like everyone else on the entire planent, "Ok. I think I've got it now" I had to use my buddy's putter since I didn't have one. I don't remember making any putts, but I do remember thinking, "Holy Crap. This is much more difficult than putt-putt." I probably averaged a 3.5 putts over 18.

my first 9 holes I shot 65. It was tryouts for the high school golf team.

I ended up averaging 53 that year. sophomore year 47. junior year 43. senior year 40 and all conference.

Think the first 9 hole score I ever had was a 56, with a few mulligans I'm sure.

the first score i remember actually keeping was 55 for nine holes, but this was after i'd been playing for a month or two.

I started off playing this par 63 executive a couple of time and shooting mid 90's scores. I was thinking to mysely why do people make such a big deal about breaking a 100? Then my brother took me to a regulation course. I remember looking at the course from the first tee not really believing how big the place was. Then I proceeded to shoot a 131. I think I was in awe of the place more than anything else. I was hooked!!! I still look at that card from time to time when I need a reminder that the game will inspire awe if you allow yourself see it.
