I just picked up two at Lowe's for 4 dollars. I didn't know that such a good aid could be bought at such a cheap price. I've seen pro's using these, and I've looked intrigued by them. Not only for aim on the range, but also on the putting green I think I could use them very usefully.

Any other players use these during their practice? Got any good drills that you can use with them?

For those who have no idea what I'm talking about by reflector.

I've never seen anyone use it on the putting green but I'm trying to come up with some possible drills to get my stroke more straight-back-straight-through because my putting was truly terrible today. Do you ever use it on the putting green or just range?

Range but I am not the best person to talk to about putting (see signature). If I were going to use it on the green I probably only use it for a square to square stroke which I am trying to move away from. Other than that I am a little lost on what I would use it for.

Line it up with your target line so you know your feet are aimed correctly, or place it perpendicular to your target line to make sure ball position is correct.

You can be smart, save your money, and just set down another club.

I don't like setting down another club. It is going to get smaller or larger depending on which end points where. Not to mention I can color or tape all over the reflector stick.

Well, your a +3 handicap so your obviously a better putter than me, so any tips is always greatly appreciated from you...Unless your "hole-ing" out chip shots or your irons, you've got to be able to get the ball in the cup to shoot those scores.

I hate seeing my club on the ground below me. I'm not sure why. I think I'm afraid I'll step on the shaft and bend it or something, haha. These will make it easier. These are also much longer which I think will help.

every time I practice. really helps with aim and alignment. My eyes tell me I'm aiming left but the reflector and instructor say otherwise :D

I use one so I know whether it's my alignment or swing that's causing the ball to not go where I want it to go.

A quote from Kris
...is that college bball really isn't "lower tier". The better teams have their rosters filled with guys who could play in the NBA. hell, guys used to come straight from high school to the NBA. I really don't think there's much of a difference skill-wise between the two.

I've tried putting a club down for alignment but I'm always aiming at different targets and in different directions so it doesn't work for me. I sometimes put two clubs down when I'm putting to help me keep my putter going straight back and through, making sure the putter swings parallel to the shafts. You could give that a go with the reflectors.

They're near the mailboxes at all the Lowe's I've been in.

I've not used reflectors, but I've got something similar made of wood. I think it's from a picture frame actually. I use them for working on my swing plane. I'm working on getting rid of my swing over the top, so I line them up parallell to the target line, ball between and swing through them. Move them closer together the better I get. Have found this to be an excellent way to work on this. Instant feedback.

Use the sticks for monitoring ball position, target line, toe line, and can be a visual to the path I'm trying to feel. Stick them in the ground on an incline to work on staying on plane, or you can put one in the ground just on the other side of your ball to monitor your pivot. You can monitor hip turn and slant by putting one in the 2 belt loops outside your buckle and make sure your arms don't hit the stick on the way down. You can hold on the stick and the club and trace the target line to make sure the shaft is on plane.

I like putting it straight in the ground on my target line about 8 yards ahead of my ball. I try to work it left and right of the stick - mostly right though. Its amazing for perception on where the ball should be 8 yards after impact.

For putting, find the fall line on the green so that you have a straight putt. You can use 2 and make tracks or use 1 and monitor the line outside your ball to the outside of the cup. If you can roll it parallel to the stick, you can make putts. This also helps with your eyes get used actually aiming at what your'e looking at. Again, you can stick one in the green and monitor head movement.

Best $2 training aid on the market.

i hack-sawed the head off a crappy old graphite driver and use the shaft for this same purpose.

great suggestions, dougfisher. i've used the beltloop drill before with great results.

You can also hold the stick together with the club in your grip to practice (slowly) lag drills and chipping motions.
